Characters:

Drizzt Do’Urden:

Drizzt Do'Urden is no ordinary drow. This noble Ranger walks under the stars instead of the lightless Underdark. He has forsaken his people and their evil ways in favor of a world where kindness is not considered a weakness and where one can turn his back on friends without fear of the dagger that will follow. He now walks among friends who have learned that his actions are more important than his dark heritage. Drizzt lives with these friends in a remote part of the Forgotten Realms known as Icewind Dale. Icewind Dale can be found north of the mountain range known as the Spine of the World in the northwestern part of the Realms. It is an inhospitable place where the wind blows from either the Sea of Moving Ice or the Reghed Glacier. Either way it will freeze a man to death in mere minutes and death waits for the unwary in the form of monstrous beasts like the Tundra Yeti. In this barren land there is a group of small villages known as Ten Towns where other such outcasts live, and it is here that Drizzt calls home. Drizzt's most prominent feature are his eyes. They are violet in color, and almost seem to blaze with their own inner light. Drizzt has long flowing white hair, and normally wears a fur-collared forest green cloak over his armor and high black boots. He is currently around 140 years old although this is young by Drow standards. Drizzt can expect about seven centuries of life. He stands 5'4" tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He is well proportioned and superbly honed for fighting. He wields two magical scimitars named Twinkle and Icingdeath, and the onyx figurine which contains his dearest friend, Guenwyvar. hit ‘esc’ to quit Drizzt Do’Urden

Guenhwyvar:

The black panther Guenhwyvar was Drizzt’s first real friend. She was never judgemental of anyone, particularly Drizzt. Guenhwyvar is a magical creature from the Astral Plane. She is tied to Drizzt’s world through an enchanted onyx figurine, which Drizzt always keeps close to him. Guenhwyvar can be summoned to Drizzt’s side for no longer than a few hours every other day. Although she can be kept longer, doing so puts a monumental stress on the great cat. In combat, Guenhwyvar really shines. She stalks in the shadows, keeping perfectly still and silent until her foe approaches. When they do, Guenhwyvar pounces, with claws raking and teeth piercing. Overall, she is a welcome friend and a formidable opponent. hit ‘esc’ to quit Guenhwyvar

Drow:

The drow elves are a universally despised race. Even their allies and the other evil races of the Forgotten Realms and Underdark would see them dead. This is a race whose name is whispered in shadowed corners for fear of retribution. Their name causes fear amongst even the most valiant of warriors and wizards. One would never know they are present until the dagger is inextricably embedded into their back. The drow, with a few notable exceptions, are true masters of deception, cunning, torture and murder. Although physically slight, the true strength of the drow is their unmatched skill in the arts of stealth, and ability of near perfect silence. Drow are short and slender with skin as black as polished obsidian, and hair as stark white as the winter’s snows. In the darkness, their eyes appear to burn a bright red color. hit ‘esc’ to quit Drow

Cattie Brie:

Cattie-brie grew up among the tough Dwarves of Icewind Dale. As a young girl her parents were killed in a Goblin raid but this beautiful, auburn-haired human female was taken in by Clan Battlehammer and grew up as tough as the very dwarves who raised her. Cattie-Brie was the first occupant of Icewind Dale to warmly greet Drizzt when he was on the mountain of Kelvin’s Cairn. She, perhaps more than anyone who knows Drizzt, can understand the struggles he goes through in his daily attempt to find acceptance among those goodly races of the Realms who can see no further than his skin color. Cattie-brie, under the training of her friends, has become more than a match for any foe who wishes to oppose her and her elvish bow, Taulmaril the Heart Seeker. hit ‘esc’ to quit Cattie Brie

Bruenor:

The red-bearded Bruenor Battlehammer grew up among the great corridors of the dwarven kingdom of Mithril Hall. As a young lad, he was there as the halls were overrun and looted by the dragon Shimmergloom. Both Bruenor’s Father and his Father's Father were slain trying to defend the halls and Bruenor and the rest of Clan Battlehammer were forced to flee to save themselves. They eventually arrived in Icewind Dale and over the next two hundred years, Bruenor guided them as their king. Bruenor is as true a friend as anyone could hope to have. He is a typical Dwarf; he loves the treasures of the earth and has enormous love for those he considers his friends and family. Like other dwarves, though, he likes nothing more than bashing Goblin skulls with his ax. hit ‘esc’ to quit Bruenor

Regis:

Regis, a true halfling, prefers a life of peace, rest and vast quantities of food. He has a habit of "acquiring" items that aren't his to acquire and this in turn leads to his misfortune and one disaster after another. Regis grew up in Calimport among the riffraff of society and grew to be a very skilled thief, even attaining membership in the local thieves’ guild and gaining the confidence of Pasha Pook, the influential guild leader. His arrival in Ten Towns could only mean one thing - he's in trouble and running from it with all speed. Regis’ most prized possession is a ruby pendant which allows the user to hypnotize all who look upon its spinning light. hit ‘esc’ to quit Regis

Wulfgar:

As a young boy, Wulfgar grew up among the fierce barbarian tribes of Icewind Dale but was captured by Bruenor in a barbarian raid on Ten Towns in Icewind Dale. Instead of killing him, or taking him as a prisoner, Bruenor made Wulfgar serve him and Clan Battlehammer for five years to pay for the actions of his people. Wulfgar served well and grew into the huge man barbarian legends are made of. He now wields Aegis Fang, the magical war-hammer, made for him by Bruenor, his adoptive father. hit ‘esc’ to quit Wulfgar

Streams of Silver:

Bruenor the dwarf, Wulfgar the barbarian, Regis the halfling, and Drizzt the dark elf fight monsters and magic on their way to Mithral Hall, centuries-old birthplace of Bruenor and his dwarven ancestors. Faced with racism and the prospect of endangering his friends by staying with them, Drizzt considers returning to the lightless underworld city he abandoned, Wulfgar begins to overcome his tribe's aversion of magic, And Regis runs from a deadly assassin: Artemis Entreri, who, allied with evil wizards, is bent on the heroes' destruction. All of Bruenor's dreams, and the survival of his party hinge upon the actions of one brave young woman... hit ‘esc’ to quit Streams of Silver

The Silent Blade:

Wulfgar returns from the Abyss to find there are demons a hammer cannot crush. Artemis Entreri has used his dagger to carve an empire in the back streets of Calimport, as he seeks the head of his oldest foe. Drizzt learns that not all wounds bleed and not all blades kill. Loss of empathy might well be the most enduring and deep-cutting scar of all, the silent blade of an unseen enemy, cutting at our hearts and stealing more than our strength; stealing our will. For what are we without empathy? What manner of joy might we find in our lives if we cannot understand the joys and pains of those around us? -Drizzt Do’Urden The Silent Blade hit ‘esc’ to quit
