I’m going to tell you three reasons why they are frauds. I’m an expert at this because I have seen my friends call the psychic hotline, and they didn’t get their fortune told. The first reason, why they take your money is because they have nothing to do, besides sitting around and telling people lies or making up fortunes. The second reason why you shouldn’t trust a psychic is when you call the hot line, it will costs about 5 dollars per minute, and you don’t even know who you are talking to. The third and final reason why you shouldn’t trust a psychic is because they might be a fraud. They can make good impressions of some other psychics. When they get busted, they go to jail for fraud. For example Ms. Cleo got busted for having false identification. Slide8: I’m going to tell two reasons why people believe in psychics. First, people believe that the cards are real, is because they think that the cards can tell them their future. The second reason why people believe in psychics, is when people spend thousands of dollars a year trying to get their fortune told to them. In conclusion, I hope that you have read my paper and learned some interesting information about psychology. Hopefully after reading my paper, you have chosen not to believe in psychics. Slide9: Ancient Roman Medicine Today’s Medicine Similarities & Differences The primary tool kit that was used by the Ancient Roman doctors was forceps, scalpels, and catheters. The difference between the tools in Ancient Rome and the tools used today is that they are more advanced now, cleaner, and made of better steel that won’t cause infections. In Ancient Rome they also used “arrow extractors”, now days we use “bullet extractors.” Slide10: The primary tool kit of the doctors today is the exact same thing. In Ancient Rome you didn’t need a licensing board and no formal requirements for the entrance to this profession. If you were good at surgery or medicine, then you were called a doctor. Today there is a big difference in what you have to do before you can become a doctor. In order to become a doctor you need to graduate college, graduate medical school, and finish your internship. It depends what kind of doctor you want to become, for some doctors you need more years of schooling. Slide11: In Ancient Rome, if a person had gangrene or a sign of deadly gangrene they would use amputation to prevent it from spreading throughout the body. Today, doctors still use the same procedures. If a person has gangrene the doctors have to amputate right away. The way the doctors do the amputation today is different then the procedure back in the Ancient Rome time though. Rome had sophisticated hospitals, with specialized rooms for different tasks. They also kept the patients away from each other to reduce the spread of diseases. The hospitals had central heating and good ventilation to keep the patients in good health. Slide12: Today the hospitals are pretty much the same way. They have different parts of the hospital for different tasks and emergencies. They keep the patients away from each other if their disease are contagious. They also keep the little kids away from the adults. The hospitals even have central heating/cooling and good ventilation.
