ICT in Education :

ICT in Education ICTs stand for information and communication technologies and are defined as a, “diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information.” These technologies include computers, the Internet, broadcasting technologies (radio and television), etc.

Information and Communication Technology:

Information and Communication Technology ICT has become an integral and accepted part of everyday life for many people. ICT is increasing in importance in people’s lives and it is expected that this trend will continue, to the extent that ICT literacy will become a functional requirement for people’s work, social, and personal lives.

ICT Literacy:

ICT Literacy ICT literacy basically involves using digital technology, communication tools and/or access, manage, integrate, evaluate and create information in order to function in a knowledge society.

ICT in education:

ICT in education The use of ICT in appropriate contexts in education can add value in teaching and learning, by enhancing the effectiveness of learning, or by adding a dimension to learning that was not previously available. ICT may also be a significant motivational factor in students’ learning, and can support students’ engagement with collaborative learning . Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods.

ICT in management and Administration:

A software based tools and applications are a piece of computer program which execute useful tasks for education, such as word processing, desktop publishing, running a database, creating a presentation or email program.

Principals function as a role model when computer technology is applied to administrative and managerial task. They are also instrumental in integrating technology into the classroom curriculum through the teachers that are employed. Administrators paly major role in providing successful learning environments and they should make it possible for their teachers to adopt technology to make a difference.

Applications of ICT :

Applications of ICT Administrator should apply PowerPoint presentation to give an instruction and giving in-house training in a more interesting way. Teachers will have more favourable attitude towards the instruction in this way. Administrator should utilise ICT applications to prepare: college announcements

This internet or web-based searching, communication and managing material will improve the organisation’s performance.
