Objectives of the Project: 

Objectives of the Project Services to be Created (with human and machine interfaces): Catalogue: “International Catalogue of Digitized Ancient Maps” Authority Database: “International Authority Database of Maps Engravers, Editors and Printers” Gazetteer: “European Multilingual Geographic Thesaurus” Targeted Users Services: citizens, students, scholars, teachers, professionals in libraries and archives, etc... Technology: institutions intending to provide similar services, such as other national, university and research libraries, archives, etc.

Objectives of the Project:

Gather and develop new reusable open-source technology for digital libraries: catalogue and thesauri management algorithms for features extraction from images solutions for interoperability, metadata transformation, search and retrieval, etc. To promote the development of European collaborative networks for reference, description, cataloguing, indexing and classification of ancient maps. ...And finally: To demonstrate innovative ways of integrating/interoperate with TEL (making it a reference case) !!!

Worldwide publicly available OAI-PMH servers Catalogued from publicly web accessible digital libraries (only a small number of cases, as proof of concept...) ...other sources to explore...
