Evaluating software applications to be used for this purpose require a the creation of an interdisciplinary team, needs assessment of what current organization policy and procedures need improvement, research on available software, creation of a checklist of the product criteria, contact vendors for demonstration, and the evaluation of the product based on the user’s needs. As an advanced practice nurse, one should be able to lead a team on how to evaluate technology. One should also be able to keep up with changing technology, as knowledge of informatics is one competency that is required of an advanced practice nurse. Comments Posting comment...
