Voz pro salud mental: Voz pro salud mental Our organization advocates on federal level to make awareness of the need to give mental care to all Mexicans, to improve mental care and to open centers of mental attention in all our country, as well as to start anti-stigma and awareness campaigns


VOZ PRO SALUD MENTAL: VOZ PRO SALUD MENTAL As family members that had to face up with all this burden, we founded VPSM since 2001. We are a net of NGO in Mexico, that found support with the Family To Family program by NAMI and support groups. We have giving the course to more than 800 hundreds families.


VPSM SERVICES: VPSM SERVICES We had more than 84,000 visits into our home page. We have 531 members into the page. Have giving response to more than 500 email. Take care of daily phone calls.


Campaigns at Campus. Our Mission : Campaigns at Campus. Our Mission Is to increase the awareness and mental health services on campus, and to eliminate the stigma students with mental illness face Prevent suicide, specifically within the college atmosphere


Participants: Participants In a two hour conference, with young consumers and caregivers as presenters, they explained why it is important to talk about mental illness at the university campus, what mental illness is, and how it has been for them to live with a mental illness in our country.


Preparation: Preparation We prepared this conference with them in a support group. At what age the illness started. What was the impact on their lives. How was the relationship with our mental health system.


Communicate to the public.: Communicate to the public. What they think is very important that the public should know What they will like to say to friends and family. What are his plans for the future


Public: Public Did not know that mental illness exist in such large numbers and that rehabilitation is possible. They were surprised that the presenters look ‘normal’ Expressed admiration for their courage of being presenters


Public: Public Admiration for the effort they are making to cope with their condition Asked questions of how a mental illness can be detected and how they can get help or help others


Presenters: Presenters They report feeling more confidence in being able to talk about themselves. This activity helped to be more consciousness of their illness and the importance to stick to the medical treatment.


Presenters: Presenters They are proud to participate in an activity that informs the public, and that has a preventive and anti-stigma purpose.


Results: Results Consumers come with more enthusiasm to the support group. At the University students celebrate the 10 of October, they organized it. Day of Mental Health (WHO).
