Could cause kids to do other drugs. They are falsifying information about marijuana and making it seem more of a problem than it is. Federal : Federal Regulated by the DEA through the CSA (Controlled Substance Act) They do not differentiate between medical and recreational use of marijuana There are different classifications of drugs, marijuana is classified as a “Schedule 1” drug which means according to the DEA, it is unsafe, highly addictive and providing no medical properties. Medicinal Properties of Medical Marijuana : Medicinal Properties of Medical Marijuana Relief from nausea and more of an appetite Reduced muscle spasms Relief from chronic pain Prevent/reduce epileptic seizures in some patients. When used correctly without abuse, marijuana can actually heighten your ability to think of new and innovative ways to solve problems. Adderall is used to treat ADHD; enhance alertness, heighten libido levels, and increase concentration and cognitive performance in the brain. Every year, tax payers spend on average 9 billion dollars on the fight against marijuana. There are estimated 33,000 state inmates and 10,000 federal inmates incarcerated due to marijuana use and/or distribution. These inmates cost over a billion dollars yearly to clothe, feed, and house. This money could used a lot wiser and put to use for a greater good. Federal and State governments could regulate the distribution and make a LOT of money off of it. Why Should It Be Legal(Continued…) : Why Should It Be Legal(Continued…) Aside from everything, people are going to maintain use of the drug regardless of laws, they might as well just legalize it as there are no profound and proven medical issues that are caused by the use of marijuana. In my opinion, I find the laws set-forth by the federal government to be hypocritical and unjust and marijuana should be legalized federally and then each state from there on can decide for themselves whether or not they want it legalized within their state.
