Olympic Torch: The torch is lit weeks before the Games and passed across the country until it reaches the Olympic site.
At the opening ceremonies the torch is carried to the stadium.
The torch lights the cauldron which burns throughout the games. Olympic Torch

Leader of the host country gives a
welcome and declares the games
