Lindeman University of Kentucky Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 Receptor Propagates mitosis tyrosine kinase receptor and is a transmembrane protein Assists with growth for tissues and cardiac and skeletal muscles Pathways are known to be associated with embryonic limb development IGF-1R are anti-apoptotic SO –when investigating cancers – IGF -1R receptors are high !! It is insinuated and many papers show that they HELP cancers resist the cytotoxic properties most chemo meds and radiation therapy!

A condition in which antioxidant levels are lower than normal. They can initiate cell death prematurely and have been identified as a leading factor to aging coupled with the mitochondria. No substantial theory yet .. Rebels ROS FREE ionized oxygen!! Oxidative Stress

Lindeman University of Kentucky Cre-lox strategy to delete the essential exon 3 PCR IGF-1R +/+ IGF-1R +/- IGF-1R -/- Homozygous IGF-1R -/- did not survive past embryonic stage Growth ? Stunted? Dwarfism? It is observed that in nematodes that decreased circulation of IGF-1 impairs growth and development BUT.. INCREASES LIFESPAN In this experiment as IGF-1R -/- were not observed since none survived the embryonic stage. No observation of dwarfism, heterozygous IGF-1R+/- even though IGF-1R was halved.
