Creativity Explored Calderon, Pablo Untitled Pablo Calderon was born in 1952 in El Salvador and started creating art in our studio in 2002. Pablo’s powerful faces, flowers, and animals are found on two-dimensional work as well as decorate chairs, tables, and other pieces of furniture and objects d’art.

Creativity Explored Clark, Kelly: 

Creativity Explored Clark, Kelly Untitled Kelly Clark was born in 1966. She often works with ink, watercolors, textiles and collage. Kelly has produced many images of animals, religious imagery and nature. She focuses on works of personal interest and beauty, co-mingling the everyday with the sublime.

Creativity Explored Cordova, Peter: 

Creativity Explored Cordova, Peter Untitled Peter Cordova was born in the Philippines in 1966. He has been working at Creativity Explored since 1996. Peter has many memories of growing up in the Philippines and uses marker and acrylic or watercolor to draw and paint these images. His vivid human and animal forms suggest tribal scenes.

Creativity Explored Cortez, Marcus: 

Creativity Explored Cortez, Marcus Untitled Marcus Cortez was born in 1965 in San Francisco and grew up here. He and his brother share an interest in art and painting. Marcus works primarily with a combination of paint and colored pencils, often drawing and painting from pictures or photos. His favorite subjects include cars and motorcycles.

Creativity Explored Cruz, Charles Pancho: 

Creativity Explored Cruz, Charles Pancho Untitled Charles “Pancho” Cruz was born in Sonoma, California in 1946 and has been working at Creativity Explored since 1992. He works most often with oil pastels, collage, printmaking, papier-mache, acrylics and watercolors, using his incredible sense of line and motion to render people, animals, and bugs.

Creativity Explored Davenport, Linda: 

Creativity Explored Davenport, Linda Untitled Linda Davenport was born in 1952 in San Francisco. She has been working at Creativity Explored since 1983 when the studio opened. She skillfully sews, creating soft sculptural forms out of cotton piping material. She also stitches on squares of felt, which are then assembled to make quilts.

Creativity Explored Diaz, Noberto: 

Creativity Explored Diaz, Noberto Untitled Noberto Diaz was born in 1965 and has been at Creativity Explored since 1990. He works most often with pens, ink, and acrylics. Noberto creates strong graphic images with bold color fields outlined in black. Often he paints his mother and sisters, surrounding them with flowers and floating homes.

Creativity Explored Diep, Thanh: 

Creativity Explored Diep, Thanh Untitled Thanh Diep was born in Vietnam in 1976 and has been creating art at Creativity Explored since 1998. She has cerebral palsy, and speaks with a communication device called the Liberator. She has written two books and created soundtracks for three animated films.

Creativity Explored Fong, Allura: 

Creativity Explored Fong, Allura Untitled Allura Fong was born in San Francisco in 1974 and has been an artist in the Creativity Explored II studio since 1996. Allura typically works with an assemblage process. The layering in Allura’s artwork produces a floating effect that adds to the dreamy quality of her subject matter of hearts and organic shapes.

Creativity Explored Gee, Paul: 

Creativity Explored Gee, Paul Untitled Paul Gee was born in 1948 in San Francisco. Paul is well known for his wood sculptures, ceramic vases, bowls, and plates. Paul uses a potter’s wheel and throws large ceramic pieces, etching detailed images onto them before he meticulously applies glaze.

Creativity Explored Geeter, Steven: 

Creativity Explored Geeter, Steven Untitled Steven Geeter was born in San Francisco in 1953. He began working at Creativity Explored in May 2003. Steven has an innate sense of line and renders figures, portraits, and plant forms with grace. He is a prolific artist who tends to use colored pencil, charcoal, and other drawing media.

Creativity Explored Ghaffar-Tehrani, Hadi: 

Creativity Explored Ghaffar-Tehrani, Hadi Untitled Hadi Ghaffar-Tehrani was born in 1965 in Iran and has been a member artist at Creativity Explored since 2001. He works with pencils, pen, ink, watercolor and pastel. Hadi creates colorful drawings of symbols – stars, circles and crosses in bold colors.

Creativity Explored Groeger, Claus: 

Creativity Explored Groeger, Claus Untitled Claus Groeger was born in 1953, and has been working at Creativity Explored since 1999. Claus doesn't speak and expresses himself with gesture and art. Claus is a collage artist and spends hours placing objects in order. His assemblages are often perfect lines of objects like bottle tops, corks, or tiny plastic animals.

Creativity Explored Guzman, Maribel: 

Creativity Explored Guzman, Maribel Untitled Maribel Guzman was born in El Salvador in 1966, and has been working at Creativity Explored since 2001. Her artmaking process involves drawing on fabric, carefully painting the drawings, and finishing the surface with tiny, colorful embroidery stitches. She often depicts people and animals living in a colorful tree-filled environment.

Creativity Explored Hicks, Nita: 

Creativity Explored Hicks, Nita Untitled Nita Hicks was born in 1945 in Texas. She has been working in our studio since 1996. Nita draws an image very carefully to map out the flat planes of color she uses to form the composition. In the drawing, the planes are separated by a double lined barrier that she then fills in with black paint.

Creativity Explored Holvoet, Camille: 

Creativity Explored Holvoet, Camille Untitled Camille Holvoet was born in 1952 in San Francisco, and has been working at Creativity Explored since 2001. She is known for her pastel drawings of luscious pastries as well as portraits of people she knows or remembers from the past.

Creativity Explored Jackson, Vincent: 

Creativity Explored Jackson, Vincent Untitled Vincent Jackson was born in 1961 in San Francisco. He has been drawing and painting in the Creativity Explored studio since 1984, and is one of its most prolific artists. Vincent prefers to work with oil pastels to create his bold, geometric faces, reminiscent of oceanic masks.

Creativity Explored King, Loren: 

Creativity Explored King, Loren Untitled Loren King was born in 1944 in Stockton, California. He has been working at Creativity Explored since 1988. He likes to work in acrylic on and in digital format. Loren’s works were exhibited at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and in a solo show at Dalva in San Francisco's Mission District.

Creativity Explored Li, Andrew: 

Creativity Explored Li, Andrew Untitled Andrew Li was born in San Francisco in 1965. Andrew is known for his line drawings of people, animals, cars and buses. Andrew’s work has been exhibited in many Creativity Explored shows, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and in the zine, Whippersnapper Nerd.

Creativity Explored Lima, Melody: 

Creativity Explored Lima, Melody Untitled Melody Lima was born in San Francisco in 1961. She was the first member artist to begin working at Creativity Explored when the studio opened in 1983. Melody loves to work in many mediums to create images of people, animals and sea creatures.

Creativity Explored Loggins, Michael Bernard: 

Creativity Explored Loggins, Michael Bernard Untitled Michael Bernard Loggins was born in 1961 in San Francisco, California. His exhibition resume’ includes shows at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Southern Exposure, and galleries in NY and LA. In 2003, his book Fears of Your Life was published and was featured on NPR’s This American Life and published in Harper’s Magazine.

Creativity Explored Lopez, Hector: 

Creativity Explored Lopez, Hector Untitled Hector Lopez is a San Francisco native, born in 1968. Hector’s large landscapes and portraits are colorful and dynamic, reflecting this artist’s gregarious personality. Using a palette of fiery reds, yellows, and violets, Hector prefers to paint on pieces of wood.

Creativity Explored McKenzie, John Patrick: 

Creativity Explored McKenzie, John Patrick Untitled John Patrick McKenzie was born in 1962. He is a visual poet creating strong images with words. He pays close attention to world news and current events are often the subject of his artwork. John has exhibited nationally and internationally at galleries in San Francisco, New York, LA, Boston, and Australia.

Creativity Explored Meyer, Albert: 

Creativity Explored Meyer, Albert Untitled Albert Meyer was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1963 and is the eleventh of 14 children. Albert likes to draw geometric shapes which are visually intersected by other lines and then colored in with watercolor and color pencils; creating a very abstract and engagingly prismatic effect.

Creativity Explored Miles, James Untitled James Miles was born in 1957 in San Francisco, California. James is best known for his small ink drawings of tiny figures, scenes, and cars. James’ drawings provide the viewer with unusually combined perspectives. James’ work has been shown in the zine “WhipperSnapper Nerd” and in many of Creativity Explored’s exhibitions.

Creativity Explored Montgomery, James: 

Creativity Explored Montgomery, James Untitled James Montgomery was born in Marin County, California in 1961. He has been working at Creativity Explored since 1993. James uses a variety of media with great proficiency to create many images of watches, the Golden Gate Bridge and sewers.

Creativity Explored Nunez, Jose: 

Creativity Explored Nunez, Jose Untitled Jose Nunez was born in 1945 in El Salvador. He has been drawing and painting at Creativity Explored since 1993. Jose uses any kind of art media to create his well-known iconography: amorphous human figures, birds, and some greenery: all things from his beloved El Salvador.

Creativity Explored O'Sullivan, Sara: 

Creativity Explored O'Sullivan, Sara Untitled Sara O'Sullivan was born in 1966 in Sacramento, California. She has been creating art in our studio since 1991. Sara uses acrylics, collage, watercolors and oil pastels. Her work has been included in many group shows at Creativity Explored as well as other venues in the Bay Area.

Creativity Explored Pineda, Abel: 

Creativity Explored Pineda, Abel Untitled Abel Pineda was born in 1969 in Huetamo, Michoacan, Mexico. He has been creating art in our studios since 1999. He uses acrylics, colored pencils, collage, colored paper, pastels, and watercolors to illustrate his memories of Mexico. Bountiful flora and fauna are all embodied in his drawings.

Creativity Explored Ramirez, Yolanda: 

Creativity Explored Ramirez, Yolanda Untitled Yolanda Ramirez was born in 1955. Yolanda prefers to work with pencil, pen, watercolors, acrylics, and ceramics, depicting food on wheels – banana splits, watermelon and hotdogs. Her work has been shown in many Creativity Explored gallery shows and in restaurants, such as Boogaloos, and other venues throughout the area.

Creativity Explored Reyes, Evelyn: 

Creativity Explored Reyes, Evelyn Untitled Evelyn Reyes was born in 1957 in San Francisco. She has been working in Creativity Explored’s studio since 2002. Evelyn works most often with watercolors, acrylics, crayons, and pencils. She uses bold colors to execute images of cakes, bells and faces.

Creativity Explored Rivers, Lance Untitled Lance Rivers was born is 1967, in San Francisco, California. He has been working at Creativity Explored since 2002. He usually works with drawing and painting media on paper, and is a meticulous draftsman. Lance's artwork strongly reflects his interest in architecture and bridges.

Creativity Explored Rodriquez, Quintin: 

Creativity Explored Rodriquez, Quintin Untitled Quintin Rodriquez was born in 1971 in San Francisco, and began working at Creativity Explored in 1999. Quintin creates expressive works using pencil, pen, watercolors, printmaking, wood, and sculpture. His works present his feelings, emotions and as a basis for storytelling. His illustrated stories have been developed in a book format.

Creativity Explored Scaccalosi, Diane:

She works with ink, colored pencils, watercolors, printmaking and photography. Her intense and expressive images often depict people, animals, and the buildings of San Francisco, the city she loves so much.

Creativity Explored Shepard, Gordon Untitled Gordon Shepard was born in 1930 in New York City, and has been working at Creativity Explored since 2000. Drawing from his experience as a circus clown, Gordon concentrates on circus-related themes for the majority of his usually representational work.

Creativity Explored Sheran, Douglas: 

Creativity Explored Sheran, Douglas Untitled Douglas Sheran was born in 1941 in California, and is a prolific artist, most often of people or animals. He enjoys working in pencil, ink, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and ceramics. Douglas’s drawings are known to capture the strength and essence of the subject rather than the minute detail.

Creativity Explored Tanyag, Isagani Untitled Isagani Tanyag was born in 1957, and he has been working in the studio since 1993. Isagani works with acrylic and ink combining monochromatic fields of color with thick black lines, all painted with great care and precision.

Creativity Explored Tieu, Thu Mai: 

Creativity Explored Tieu, Thu Mai Untitled Thu Mai Tieu was born in 1970 in Saigon, Vietnam. She came to the United States in 1993 and began working in Creativity Explored's studio in 1997. Mai's work is exclusively non-figurative. She works with acrylics, colored pencils, pastels and markers on paper.

Creativity Explored Vidalon, Ana Maria Untitled Ana Maria Vidalon was born in 1957 in Peru, and has been working at Creativity Explored since 1993. A typical work by Ana Maria is a graphically strong composition of layers of tiny faces. Her process is one of compulsive repetition, and this working rhythm is evident in each final complete piece.

I like to paint because it helps me relax. It helps me with the way I feel; it also helps me feel good about myself. I want to continue painting and I hope to learn more.
