This course is designed to fill that gap. You will learn the evidence behind work-related musculoskeletal disorders, how to perform appropriate tests and measures in both office and non-office settings, and practical resources available to assist you. Janet Peterson, PT, DPT has been performing ergonomic-related services for twenty years; she has had her own practice in ergonomic consulting since 1998 in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Peterson earned her master’s degree in physical therapy from Stanford University and her DPT from Temple University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Physical Therapy Association and is a past president of the Physical Therapy Association of Washington, receiving the 2003 “Physical Therapist of the Year Award”. She is a member of the Puget Sound Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (PSHFES) and the Pacific Northwest Ergonomic Roundtable. Janet’s enthusiasm for ergonomics is matched by her enthusiasm for golf, tennis and travel! Deborah Read, MOTR/L Deborah is Founder and President of ErgoFit Consulting, Inc. in Seattle, Washington. She has been involved in ergonomics since 1998, is a Certified Fitness Trainer; and an ACE Continuing Education Provider. Deborah has been interested in non-office ergonomics from the beginning, and is passionate about prevention and empowerment. She currently conducts her consulting with various industry, emergency service, and office environments. She has been a local, regional, and national presenter on ergonomics, body mechanics and fitness, a contributing author on facility design, and an interviewee and author on Ergonomics for Landscaping.  She is a member of many organizations, including AOTA and WOTA. Deborah has served 3 years on the Board of Women Business Owners, is a member of the Pacific Northwest Ergonomics Roundtable, and was the Programs & Symposium Chair for the Puget Sound Human Factors & Ergonomics Society in 2005 & 2006. Special interest: Deborah has volunteered for a private, self-funded medical eye mission in Guatemala for 6 years! Julie Lund, OTR/L Julie became invested in Injury Prevention and Ergonomics 20 years ago when she started visiting the workplaces where her injured patients were to return-to-work. Seeing the need to educate employers and employees regarding the prevention of injury, she shifted her focus to injury prevention consulting. Through her own consulting practice, she has worked with numerous employers and employees in Hawaii and on the mainland ranging from office workers to cement workers. A strong believer in the importance of communication and training, she was awarded the Toastmaster’s speech contest winner in the Northwest region. She has been the guest speaker for numerous professional and civic groups. She is licensed in the State of Hawaii and Washington. Little known fact: Julie taught herself how to swim so she could compete in a Triathalon!
