Broadway’s Learning Team provides: Engagement activities to increase confidence with working in a group Group work embedding basic skills eg pre-tenancy and tenancy sustainment training One-to-one and group essential skills coaching including National Tests ICT drop-in and group training including New CLAIT and ECDL Snakes and Ladders – the reality of the vulnerable client : Snakes and Ladders – the reality of the vulnerable client Slide 4: Context Slide 5: Soft outcomes are: ‘Changes, benefits or learning achieved as a result of a service intervention’ and can ‘demonstrate progression towards hard outcomes such as qualifications and jobs’ (The Employability Map, Off the Streets and Into Work) Subjective changes Can they be measured? Evidence? The problem of soft outcomes Process of establishing a soft outcomes tool: Process of establishing a soft outcomes tool 1. Established an organisational outcomes framework at Broadway 2. £10,000 funding from National Research and Development Centre’s Practitioner Led Research Initiataive 3. Reviewed existing soft outcomes tools (Catching Confidence, The Rickter Scale, The Employability Map (OSW), Outcomes Star (St Mungo’s), The Foyer Federation’s personal development programme, SOUL project etc) 4. Focus groups with front line staff and clients to establish desired soft outcomes of service 5. Piloted ‘Catching Confidence’ with 4 clients 6.
