An AVID Presentation S.L.A.N.T

S- : 

S- The “S” in SLANT stands for “Sit in front” Sitting in the front of the class is an advantage way to learn. Sitting in the front puts you right up in front of the teacher meaning you don’t miss a beat. Also if you have a question or concern, being in front of the teacher allows you to quickly get his or her attention and fix your problem.

L- : 

L- The “L” in SLANT stands for “lean forward” Leaning forward shows you are an attentive student and interested in leering about today's lesson. It shows you are paying attention and care about what your teacher is saying because a true AVID student knows that is important to learn anything.

A- : 

A- The “A” in SLANT stands for “ask questions” Asking question is a vital aspect of learning every day every period . IT is exponentially important to ask questions of every level to gain a deeper understanding and protect yourself from being misinformed and missing something vital in the days lesson.

N- : 

N- The “N” in SLANT stand for “nod your head” Sometimes little things are the most important Simply nodding your head shows you are an attentive student and serious about your education. It shows you understand the lesson and the teacher can confidently move on knowing you get what he or she is teaching.

T- : 

T- The “T” in SLANT stands for “talk to the teacher”. Talking to the teacher allows you to build a relationship with that teacher. When you talk to the teacher you are self-advocating. By talking with the teacher you are putting your best foot forward, which shows your teacher that you care about your grade. This in turn makes them want to help you more in the future.
