Room 6 and senior team connections challenge 2010

MT CARGILL : 

MT CARGILL How did we break down the four walls of the classroom? 1. Everybody in the senior team climbed to the top of Mt Cargill. This tied in with our mihi, our term 1 theme of identity, our goal setting, and set the scene for our next topic of ‘living world communities’ as we could see Orokonui and Owheo from the top.

MT.CARGILL : 

MT.CARGILL WE WALKED ALL THE WAY UP MT.CARGILL.WE ALL SUPPORTED AND ENCOURAGED EACH OTHER,JUST LIKE IN OUR LEARNING.

OROKONUI : 

OROKONUI 2. We all went to Orokonui Ecosanctuary. We used the SHMAK stream health kit to identify what lived in a stream community.

Slide 5: 

We worked with Tahu Mackenzie, the Orokonui EcoSanctuary educator, both at school and at Orokonui. We had lots of parents and grandparents come to help us. Some people volunteer as helpers to support the Orokonui EcoSanctuary and they worked with us too.

YR 5 ADVENTURE WEEK : 

YR 5 ADVENTURE WEEK We had a week of fun and team building activities like ice skating, kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, bike riding and heaps more

Slide 7: 

Lots of parents were involved in helping us. So were people such as the police (bike safety) Sports Academy, cemetery volunteers and Dave Brash abseiling.

STADIUM FENCE : 

STADIUM FENCE A group of George Street Normal School designed and painted part of the stadium fence. The design represents us, our school vision and the community around us.

Activ8 One of our electives groups ran their own sports competition and we sent a team down to the Activ8 challenge.
