7 Resources and activities were created. The intention was - to learn how to use these Moodle tools - to create content for an online ESL course Resource – reference file Moodle tool guide for teachers Resource – test directory Activity – chat room Activity – assignment Activity – choice Activity – quiz Activity - questionnaire

Resources:

Resources Reference file Reference files are presented to students in the center column of the Moodle platform. The students should know in which context s/he is expected to use the reference file, and what s/he is expected to do with it. Open question: Although I wrote a summary for the activity, it wasn’t displayed on the course page. I didn’t find out how this works. Test directory This tools permits to upload a group of documents to the same place in the center column. This saves space and makes the course easy to navegate.

Slide 5:

Chat Chat is a synchronous tool that can be used for Meeting with groups of students during the course (scheduled meetings / required assistance) Reaching out to students and motivating them to connect to the platform (teacher’s office hours / optional assistance) Assignment The assignment tool facilitates the submission of individual learning outcomes. An advantage is that the date and time of submission are registered. A student can upload a single file, such as a Word document, spreadsheet or anything digital.

Slide 6:

Choice This activity is quick and easy to create. It can be used for continuous feedback from students (pace of course, difficulties, popular activities, etc.) or for organizing team activities (students choose a topic, communicate preferences, etc.) Quiz I experimented with some question types. An advantage of this tool is that questions from previous courses can be imported and adapted. Questionnaire I was able to create a questionnaire, but I wasn’t able to view it.
