Uniqueness Dense residential environment (apartment complex) Advanced high-speed communication network (VDSL, FTTC, FTTH) Growth of the high-speed Internet service (10 million customers) 10 million houses built with digital home tech. Korean-style Internet server specialized on the high quality (HDTV-level) streaming service with the layered service architecture in dense residential environment with high-speed Internet communication network : Creating new market by creating new type of service Layered service architecture - Infrastructure consisting of global and local servers for minimizing traffic on backbone as well as for maximizing streaming quality Carrier grade level Linux and autonomous system management - Reliable & stable OS and efficient system management Streaming-acceleration technology - Special hardware architecture for streaming-acceleration with zero-copy between storage and network Multimedia file system - Large scale continuous media data management Original Korean-style Internet server to provide plentiful digital life service based on high quality multimedia contents

Service Architecture:

Global Server Global Server - Content Creation - Content Storing Content Management Service Management Local Server - Content Streaming - Content Distribution TV STB PC FES/GES Access Point PDA Apartment Complex Campus Zone Cyber Buildings Local Server Streaming Distribution Service Architecture Medical Center IDC Service Development of a high performance Internet server to provide high quality (HDTV-level) on-demand streaming service up to 10,000 clients in the high speed communication network of 20Mbps

Development Goal:

Development Goal  Stage I : Development of a local server: 2002 – 2004 Development of a server to provide HDTV-level streaming services up to 1,000 clients (200 concurrent clients) in apartment complex, office buildings, and campus zone through the high speed communication network of 2~20Mbps Development of the interim product ( ~2003) DVD-level services with ADSL/VDSL (2~10Mbps) Development of the final product ( ~2004) HDTV-level services in FTTH (20Mbps) Development of a streaming server for broadcasting network and digital home Commercialization support for the interim product  Stage II : Development of ubiquitous platform : 2004 – 2006
