When you have to manage the performance of your team you will need a wide range of skills.  These may be interpersonal and the process as well.  Here are the most important ones that will be needed: • Setting the Goals • Coaching • Mentoring • Delegation • Empowerment • Feedback

Setting the Goals In the absence of goals you will not be able to manage performance as nobody has the yardstick with which you can measure the achievements. If there is nothing to measure there is nothing to manage as well. Managing performance training may be needed to gain these skills and more.

Coaching It is an essential part of managing the performance so the individuals can learn how things could have been achieved more efficiently.
