Bio Cards: 

Bio Cards Format of cards--why so picky? Why so many questions?! Vary the topics Rule of thumb--alternate should not have a more complete bio card than the captain NEED INFO 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO GAME!

Bio Card Example 1: 

Bio Card Example 1 Name: Grover Monster (Captain) School: Sesame Street High School Fictional character: Harry Potter Non-textbook: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath Million Dollars: I would buy lots of food Sports played: Tennis I played singles and doubles, but not seeded Sports watched: Soccer, football, baseball, tennis Languages: I can speak (not well) and read Spanish Notes: I participated in the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week. I only use my own pencil on Scholastic Scrimmage. I am on Class Council. I like to cook. I love to eat raw onions.

Sports played: I am a cheerleader, and I am mostly a base. But I can do any position. I also play doubles tennis. Sports watched: Basketball, TENNIS, and football Instrument: I have played the flute for 6 years, and the piccolo for 3 years. Three foods: Wheat bread!! Dark chocolate M&Ms and swiss cheese College: A 4 year private college mostly - I would love to double major in either journalism/political science or English/Spanish education Notes: This past summer I attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference. I was nominated for Cranberry Festival Queen. I love coffee shops. Summerhouse is my favorite and then Starbucks. I kick butt at ultimate Frisbee. Once, I chipped a tooth in a mosh pit.

Languages: I speak English and partial spanish Best thing: It doesn’t have bright lights so I can see the stars Change one thing: Acceptance of girls Air Speed: African or European Notes: I like astronomy. I like magic tricks. I own a gecko. I once solved a Rubiks cube.

What Not To Wear : 

What Not To Wear Avoid wearing all black, all white, or flesh colored tops The studio tends to be cold--wear appropriate clothes No hats No tank tops/spaghetti strap/etc. Note--HD conversion will affect how clothing looks on air…

Lunch on game day: 

Lunch on game day Avoid heavy foods--they tend to make you sleepy! Eat a balanced, light lunch Allow plenty of time for service if you are going to a restaurant

Upon arrival…: 

Upon arrival… Arrive at least 1 hour before your scheduled game time CHECK IN TO ROOM 120! Wait in the lobby--we will go to the green room when both teams have arrived If anyone from your team needs to change clothes, please allow extra time for that to happen

Covering the rules : 

Covering the rules Once we are in the green room, we will cover the game rules with the students Now is the time for questions/clarifications! We will also do the bio cards at this point

In the studio: 

In the studio Jerry will bring coaches and alternates in for still photos Jerry will then bring in team members We’ll do sound/buzzer checks/rehearsal Reminder--no study materials are allowed in the studio MICS ARE ALWAYS ON!! CELL PHONES MUST BE OFF

Changes for 07/08--Tournament We will not have the mini-round this year We will proceed directly into the 16 team tournament Winner from 06/07 (State College) will have a bye to the tournament round Remaining 82 teams compete for the remaining 15 slots for the tournament
