From Associate Teacher to Teacher Permit: 

From Associate Teacher to Teacher Permit After you have 12 units, continue taking Child Development courses AND general Education courses. You will need 12 more units in Child Development and 16 units in general education in these areas: 1. Math or Science 2. Social Sciences 3. Humanities or Fine Arts 4. English/Language Arts 10

11 ONE PATHWAY DSS (12 UNITS) 3 units Child Growth and Development 3 units Curriculum 3 units Child, Family, Community Plus 3 UNITS TEACHER CTC Permit ASSOCIATE TEACHER Plus 12 additional Child Development units and at least 16 general education units required for Teacher Permit TOTAL 40 Units This level of the permit also requires documentation of 175 days of experience MJC Teacher Certificate Additional 12 units selected from the following courses: CLDDV 111 CLDDV 121 CLDDV 125 CLDDV 126 or 127 or 128 CLDDV 163 CLDDV 167 CLDDV 262

12 ONE PATHWAY DSS (12 UNITS) 3 units Child Growth and Development 3 units Curriculum 3 units Child, Family, Community Plus 3 UNITS TEACHER CTC Permit ASSOCIATE TEACHER Plus 12 additional Child Development units and at least 16 general Education units required for Teacher Permit TOTAL 40 Units This level of the permit also requires documentation of 175 days of experience MJC Graduation 33 units in specified Child Development Courses plus general education requirements totaling at least 60 units.
