AAA hockey is a classification of hockey that surpasses the A level of competition found at the typical youth hockey level. Strong, dedicated players from multiple communities come together during the off-season and compete at a high level against other AAA teams. Levels of play are determined by a standardized system based on player birth years. (Example: A 1996 AAA team will consist only of players born in 1996) What does AAA hockey offer? The Red River Mud Sharks Hockey Club is an all-encompassing off-season program that offers practices, games, tournaments, game jersey andamp; socks and more. The program offers birth year levels of competition from 95-99 and consists of a spring through late summer schedule. The mission is to provide a high level of competition and having fun for players throughout northwest Minnesota, eastern North Dakota and beyond. Players looking to go beyond their association level of hockey thrive on this program. Additional information is available on the website. Age Levels Red River Mud Shark teams are classified by the world recognized standard of birth years. Players are classified by the year in which they were born. (Example: 1996 AAA team will consist only of players born in the year 1996) 2008 Age Divisions We are planning on fielding teams for the following birth years: Boys – ’99/’98, ’97, ’96, ’95 Girls – U10 (’98/’97), U12 (’96/’95) Each team will consists of 15-18 players to include up to two goalies. Maybe you are or have been on a AAA summer hockey team and are looking for one that is close to where you live or, if you haven’t been on one, maybe you just didn’t know where to start looking. The Red River Mud Sharks might be the club for you! Established in 2007, initially we only had a ‘97/’98 team primarily from East Grand Forks, MN. For 2008 we are looking to add any and all teams we can, boys and girls, from the northwest Minnesota/eastern North Dakota area. Team Package The cost for joining the Mud Sharks is $255. This will include jerseys and socks, ice time for 6 practices, and registration fees for three tournaments. How do I get on a team? We are currently gauging interest in the 2008 AAA season.
