Nostradamus :

Nostradamus His Life And Prophecies By Stryker Thompson

Slide 2:

Nostradamus was either born on December 14, 1503, or December 21, 1503 in Saint-Remy-de-Provence in the south of France, where his claimed birthplace still exists. Wikipedia

Slide 3:

His actual name was “Michel de Nostredame”, but is often translated to Nostradamus.

Slide 4:

Growing up, Nostradamus showed great interest in the stars and their patterns. He was nicknamed “The Little Astrologer” by his classmates. He was the oldest child in his family. Although Nostradamus was Christian, his ancestors were Jewish Nostradamus by Edgar Leoni

Slide 5:

Nostradamus grew on to study medicine and the occult. He also became a prophet and wrote a book of prophecies, starting a great legacy.

Why Nostradamus? :

Why Nostradamus? Now that I have given you some background information, you must be wondering why I chose the topic of Nostradamus

Interesting :

Interesting Well, first off, I chose him because he is a very interesting subject. He had studied the occult, lore, and medicine, and not that many other people are doing projects involving any of those things, and it’s good to be different.

A Challenge :

A Challenge I also chose him because of the challenge. Writing about him is a hard task, because it is tough to know where to start and end, and what to focus on.

Legacy :

Legacy But a very strong reason of why I chose him is that he left behind a great legacy. Many people today study his work and try to decipher parts of it that might be confusing. He has also drawn many followers over the years, who read his quatrains and trust them.

Album :

Album This may seem odd, but I first heard of Nostradamus when one of my favorite bands, “Judas Priest” released the two-disc concept album titled “Nostradamus” and I was intrigued by him.

Let’s Begin! :

Let’s Begin! Now that you know some of Nostradamus’s past, and why I chose him for my project, why don’t we delve a little deeper into the subject?

Growing Up/Student Years :

Growing Up/Student Years Little is known about Nostradamus as a child. As a child, he was very bright, showing an interest in everything, especially the stars. His father became worried with these “impractical” interests, and sent Nostradamus away to study medicine, where there is no confirmed location, but possibly at the University Of Montpellier

Slide 13:

After getting a license to practice medicine, and a bachelor’s degree, Nostradamus went to southern France to try to help people with the plague. Apparently he had phenomenal success, either physically, or just psychologically.

Slide 14:

After the helping with the plague, he returned to school to obtain his doctorate. He then married an unnamed woman, who he had two children with, but in 1534 they died, most likely from the plague. Thirteen years later, he married and had six children with a rich widow named Anne Ponsarde. Wikipedia

Seer :

Seer After visiting Italy, Nostradamus started to study the occult instead of medicine. He wrote an almanac for 1550, and this was where he “Latinized” his name from Nostredame to Nostradamus for the first time. Happy with the success of the almanac, he began to write one or more annually, along with at least eleven calendars annually.

Slide 16:

He also started on his famous task of writing a book of one thousand mostly French quatrains, divided into ten “Centuries” of one hundred quatrains each, which include most of the prophecies that you hear about today The quatrains were published in a book titled les Propheties, or in English, The Prophecies

Slide 17:

After the book was published, he became known to some people as the “Prophet of Doom”, or an evil man because of some of the things he wrote of the future. A Queen, one of Nostradamus’s admirers, even asked him to come to Paris to be questioned about prophecies involving royal families, and to draw up horoscopes for her children

His Work :

His Work Nostradamus wrote of many things in his book, many of which are very pressing. He told about future and past crisis's .

Global Warming :

Global Warming It is said that Nostradamus predicted possible effects of Global Warming in Quatrain 3, Century 2 The first half of it is: Because of the solar heat on the sea Of Euboea the fishes half cooked

Slide 20:

Well, solar heat speaks for itself, and talking about the fish half cooked, that could mean the effects of Global Warming on animals. In another quatrain he writes: “So great is the drought, that fish in the sea, river and lake are boiled hectically. Southwest France in distress from fire in the sky.“ This could obviously mean there is a drought caused by Global Warming.

The Antichrists :

The Antichrists Nostradamus wrote about three people known as “The Antichrists” . These were people who he believed would challenge the “Kingdom of God”. The first two have already come and gone, and the third has not yet been discovered.

#1 :

#1 The first Antichrist was named Napaul, also know as Napoleon.

#2 :

#2 The second Antichrist was named as Hister, or translated, Hitler. Nostradamus even went as far as to predict his rise and upbringing.

Mabus :

Mabus So far, nobody knows who the third Antichrist is. Named Mabus, we are still waiting to see who he is. People have said it could be Sudam Hussein, because if you write Sudam on a piece of paper and hold it up to a mirror, it reads: mabuS He has also written that after the fall of Mabus, there will be a war lasting 27.5 years, and then there will be peace for 1000 years.

Destruction :

Destruction Looking through his quatrains, I read something about the possible effects of a nuclear bomb The quatrain read: From Monaco to near Sicily The entire coast will remain desolated There will remain no suburb, city or town Not pillaged and robbed by the Barbarians This could be troubling

Myths :

Myths Now, let’s clear several things up. There are many myths about Nostradamus, and you shouldn’t leave this project without knowing what’s real and what isn’t

Slide 27:

In 1555, Nostradamus wrote: "Come the millennium, month 12,In the home of greatest power,The village idiot will come forthTo be acclaimed the leader." This is NOT, true, this was simply a chain letter claiming that Nostradamus predicted George W. Bush becoming president

9/11 :

9/11 Nostradamus did not predict the events of 9/11 There was a quatrain written by him that, loosely interpreted, has a resemblance to 9/11 For more information go to http://urbanlegends.about.com/cs/historical/a/nostradamus_2.htm

The Amulet :

The Amulet It is said, that Nostradamus was buried standing upright, and in the year 1700, when his body was moved, they found an amulet with the year 1700 printed on it This is not true, seeing as the date changes from account to account For more go to http://www.nostradamus-repository.org/myths1.html

Conclusion :

Conclusion Nostradamus had a huge influence on people of all generations. When he was alive, he was sought after and renowned for being so accurate and smart about his predictions. Between then and now, Nostradamus has had many followers of many ages. Now not everything he has told of has come true, but the majority does.

Slide 31:

His legacy has carried on to today too. Now with many websites and books written especially for and about him, he is the most known and accurate Seer to this day

Slide 32:

I hope that you have learned much about Nostradamus and his studies from this project, and that what you have learned sticks with you. Thanks For Watching
