the online home of Sara Zarr Wednesday, December 21, 2005 "if you think this is big, wait til you see the toast" I guess it's safe to tell the secret now, since there is no chance G-man will read my blog while he is flying home from a little trip. Alan and I went tree shopping after work on Monday (I'd been watching the prices, and Smith's had slashed trees to $14.98 for a 6-7 footer) and loaded two giant trees into his pickup (everyone should have a friend with a truck). We got somewhat filthy as it had rained and snowed and the trees were nice and fresh and sappy. After wrastling the tree through the front door, we got it on the stand and in place and damn but it takes up nearly the whole living room! It smells unbelievable. Anyhoo, last night I pulled out the decorations and bedecked the tree and the house while watching Uncle Buck (a movie which must be watched once every 28-36 months). Normally, the tree stuff is something I'd want to do with G., but when he left on Sunday our household was in high stress and chaos; I think it will be nice for him to come home to Christmas in progress without actually having to do any of the work himself. I wanted to leave on the tree lights and have Christmas music playing to enhance his experience of coming home, but I got paranoid about setting the house on fire and I couldn't find any of the Christmas CDs, so the sight and smell of the tree by day will have to be enough. the stories of a girl the online home of Sara Zarr Tuesday, December 20, 2005 Today is a day I want to stay in bed with books and tea. No phone, no e-mail, no TV, no outside world. Only reading and napping and dreaming. Maybe next week. Can you keep a secret? Probably not. So never mind. I've yet to begin my Christmas shopping or cards. Somehow I don't think cards are going to happen this year, so don't take it personally if your mailbox goes Sara-less. Yeah, I know that's the same song and dance I give every year. posted by Sara Z. @ 1:17 PM 2 comments 2 Comments: At 9:15 PM, Danny said... "Today is a day I want to stay in bed with books and tea." Hey, just about every day I wish I could mix records in bed. Actually, right now I would just like to mix more records (and then get money afterwards.) :) At 1:36 PM, slc urban princess said... um, i can keep a secret but dang good.
