Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices : 

established since 1990 in several countries, Bulgaria: since 1994 on behalf of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Culture (bm:bwk) Tasks: to support integration of scientific communities into international networks of scientific co-operation to promote scientific co-operation of Austrian scientists with scientists of the host countries and with scientists from the WB SEE Region (since 2004 cooperation WB countries is the new key competence of ASO Sofia and ASO Ljubljana which are since 2004 coordinated by Centre for Social Innovation, Vienna) Instruments: Calls for proposals, consulting services to researchers and S&T policy makers, organisation and financial support to conferences, workshops, exploratory workshops, exchange of scientists, publications etc. Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices

ASO Call 2006/2007 "Information Science and Society ": 

ASO Call 2006/2007 "Information Science and Society " The main goal is to foster in a sustainable way research cooperation and networking in and with South Eastern European countries and to promote networking, the exchange of research results and know-how, and to initiate comparative studies and know-how exchange on European standards and practices in the specified areas.

Media/Information Literacy Digital Libraries and Content eInclusion Topics of the Call ASO Call for Proposals 2006/2007: "Information Science and Society in SEE countries" Scientific approach: Multi-disciplinary approaches with focus on socio-economic dimensions targeting the Intersection of Information Technologies and Social and Economic Sciences

128.000 Euro for 10 projects funding of individual project depends on the content, duration and number of teams (countries) involved; up to 12.000€ /project co-financing should be provided by consortia for projects with budgets that exceed the above mentioned financial framework of ASO Call funding ASO Call for Proposals 2006/2007: "Information Science and Society in SEE countries"
