South Africa Swaziland and Mozambique agreed to jointly develop the Lubombo region (borders all 3 countries). The key obstacle was the high prevalence of malaria in the region. Working together, all 3 countries formed The Regional Malarial Control Commission (RMCC) which worked out a scheme to reduce the mosquitoes. Then implemented a region wide program to give anti-malarial drugs. Progress Through UNITY……: Progress Through UNITY…… No more backwards thinkin', time for thinkin' ahead…..: No more backwards thinkin', time for thinkin' ahead….. Working together across borders is a triumph. With Responsible government + attention to public health, it is possible for African countries to provide their citizens appropriate health care. The Bush administration limits access to AIDS treatment saying that African countries don’t have the infrastructure for proper administration of drugs. Lubombo success exposes the falseness of this argument.
