PEC G2B Efforts E-Gov is one of the President’s major goals, has been & will continue to be PEC’s focus Re-engineering FPDS Will be Web-based, target is 10/1/2003 Transition to GPE – FedBizOpps – Will be fully implemented by 10-1-01 Government-wide standards for interface between procurement and finance systems

VA G2B Efforts Implementing FedBizOpps through BOS Linked to FedBizOpps Will have e-bid capability, need e-sign Working with GSA to post VA FSS contractor catalogs on GSA Advantage To date, 82 contractors, 70,000 line items Beginning to use reverse auctions

VA G2B Efforts – Cont. Will be using NIH’s past performance evaluation system Developing proposal to require health care manufacturers to use universal product numbers, mark products with bar code Will reduce supply chain management costs, improve safety and efficiency

Barriers to Expanded e-Gov One barrier is lack of interagency funding No one agency is willing to fund projects that cross agency lines Cross-functional projects currently funded by passing the hat Administration and Congress proposing funds, differing amounts If approved, will help expand e-Gov
