Lets look at ENC Today: 

Lets look at ENC Today Coverage needs to be pre-ordered based on estimated needs and requirements over a changing period of time (operating areas etc.) Licenses need to be transfered to the vessel for each ENC cell required New, replaced and deleted ENC cells cause logistical problems in the office and on the vessel Non cost effective – opening many ENC’s for a pre-defined amount of time is an expensive business Conclusion: A complicated system = LOW UPTAKE and LOW SALES!

ENC using Dynamic Licensing All charts, updates and licenses available onboard and ready for use. When you need a chart it is available in seconds ENC’s licensed as required Licenses for new and replaced charts transfered automatically via C-MAP Update Service Automatic reporting of usage via the C-MAP Update Service Controlled costs via pre-set budgets and spending limits Conclusion: A user friendly and cost effective system= HIGH UPTAKE, HIGH SALES and INCREASED SAFETY

So what is Dynamic Licensing?:

A new way of buying and licensing ENC data Including: Fully automatic licensing of ENC charts when needed Automatic selection of ENC’s when available or Professional+ when not (vector – vector) dual fuel The license is always valid for a period of 3/6/9/12 months, from the first day it was needed Pre-defined renewable credit limit onboard ENC’s that are not used are not re-licensed Currently used ENC’s are automatically re-licensed Replaced ENC’s are automatically licensed Automatic reporting of ENC usage via the C-MAP Update Service to C-MAP / HO’s

Are there Cost Savings for the end user?: 

Are there Cost Savings for the end user? Yes of course - the user does not have to order a pre-defined set of ENC’s and therefore only pays for the ENC’s that are used, and only for the period they are in use.

Are there Cost Savings for the service providers? Yes of course – the service provider does not have to spend endless hours working out the required porfolio of ENC’s for each vessel, and the logistics required to license them.

What info does the user see? : 

What info does the user see? Number of ENC’s Licensed List of Licensed ENC portfolio Expiry Info for each ENC cell Credit Limit and Balance Latest Date of next reporting Warning’s when credit limits are low or reporting has not been done

Keeping the system updated using the C-MAP ENC Update Service: 

Keeping the system updated using the C-MAP ENC Update Service Using onboard communication channels: - All new required ENC cells are received All new required ENC updates are received All new ENC licenses are received Usage is reported back to C-MAP and credit limits controlled
