The aim of this device is to demonstrate that the similar sort of control can be achieved with a normal touch tone telephone. This means that any house with a touch tone telephone can enjoy the benefits of an automated home without the high end maintenance and demanding technical proficiency. Significant Features: Embedded system integrated with a normal household touch tone DTMF telephone Allows user from any location in the world to control household appliances Control up to 3 Appliances Password controlled preventing unauthorised access to system Safe and easy installation Telephone Control of Home Appliances Done by: Yi Yang Hewin Khung (40401827) Supervisor: Dr Mark Schulz Microcontroller DTMF Decoder Phone Line Interface Relay to Appliance User calls home from any location User enter password And preset command Through the phone keypad To activate preset appliances System integrated with the telephone and Turns on after 8 rings How the Telephone Control of Home Appliances works. The device works on the principle of using Dual Tone Multi Frequency signals to control the operation of the preset appliances. This is accomplished by interfacing the standard telephone line with an embedded system. The system is code protected to prevent any unauthorized access to the system.
