This draft is not only the best in years, but offers a multitude of players that are hard to come by in the NBA….. durable, skillful big men. The top of the draft board is full of big men that a team can potentially build around and start a future with. This year, the giants will rise!Position Grades: Position GradesPoint Guard: Point Guard If you are looking for a point guard in this years draft, chances are that you will not find a franchise PG. To be quite honest, there is only one clear starter in this batch. While Kyle Christopher appears to be a great prospect, the rest of the batch leaves much to be desired. Ruben Phelps, the big time scorer out of Georgia State is an interesting prospect that initially had a lot of buzz. While he does have the ability to score, many question whether his game will translate to the NBA. 1) Kyle Christopher MTSU 6'0 200 lbs. 22 years old 2) Ruben Phelps Georgia State 5'10 191 lbs. 22 years old 3) Raymond Bass Purdue 6'2 178 lbs. 19 years old 4) Jermaine McCormick Villanova 6'2 185 lbs. 21 years old 5) Donald Barlow Duke 6'1 196 lbs. 21 years old 6) Guy Hodges Texas 6'3 207 lbs. 21 years old 7) Donovan Moody LSU 6'3 163 lbs. 21 years old 8) Leon Kemp Xavier(Ohio) 6'3 188 lbs. 21 years old 9) Ben Jennings Western Carolina 6'2 179 lbs. 22 years oldShooting Guard : Shooting Guard While the shooting guard position does not appear to have any superstars, it is very deep none the less. Quan Madison can come to a team and offer immediate offense while Chris Beasley can immediately step in as a top tier defender on any team. The question marks lie with prospects like Juan Carlos Hernandez. His trouble off the court in college prevented us from seeing enough of him to be considered a “sure thing”. However, many think he has the potential to be a very good player in the league. 1) Quan Madison Auburn 6'4 214 lbs. 19 years old 2) Chris Beasley Kansas State 6'8 206 lbs. 21 years old 3) Juan Carlos Hernandez Kentucky 6'6 217 lbs. 19 years old 4) Casey Scott Alabama 6'5 198 lbs. 21 years old 5) Terrell Franklin Northern Iowa 6'3 207 lbs. 22 years old 6) Damien Porter New Mexico 6'5 181 lbs. 19 years old 7) Andre Banks Syracuse 6'7 208 lbs. 20 years old 8) Eddie Lyons California 6'4 204 lbs. 19 years old 9) Bernard Morrison Butler 6'6 189 lbs. 21 years old 10) Donnell Page Cincinnati 6'5 191 lbs. 22 years oldSmall Forward : Small Forward The small forward position, like the 2 guard position, is full of what appears to be no superstars but a ton of solid contributors. Many experts have been split on Wesley Baldwin out of Memphis and Brevin Freeman out of South Carolina. Both offer something different and will definitely find a spot on someone’s roster. Justin Del Rosario out of Dayton is a player that did not start turning heads until his performance in the NCAA Tournament. His performance and recent workouts have more than likely earned him a spot in the middle of the first round. 1) Wesley Baldwin Memphis 6'6 224 lbs. 19 years old 2) Brevin Freeman South Carolina 6'10 215 lbs. 19 years old 3) Justin Del Rosario Dayton 6'9 232 lbs. 21 years old 4) Zach Williams Oklahoma 6'8 221 lbs. 20 years old 5) Marvin Finley Mississippi State 6'7 216 lbs. 21 years old 6) Russell Hopkins UCLA 6'8 220 lbs. 19 years old 7) Louis May Vanderbilt 6'8 224 lbs. 20 years old 8) Fabricio Perez Argentina 6'8 225 lbs. 21 years old 9) Danny Martin Bradley 6'7 228 lbs. 20 years old 10) Pierre Sonnet France 6'10 222 lbs. 20 years oldPower Forward : Power Forward The power forward position is home to the best player in the draft and best player to come out of the draft in years, Chris McKinney. There isn’t much footage on the second rated power forward out of Serbia, Mladen Lukovski. However, many are saying that he has the potential to be a star. While some disagree, everyone agrees that he will be at least a serviceable player. Gerald Hudson started off his junior campaign slow but finished strong and is quickly turning heads. The word on Wenli Ham out of China is that he is instant offense. 1) Cameron McKinney Murray State 6'11 224 lbs. 19 years old 2) Mladen Lukovski Serbia 6'11 235 lbs. 19 years old 3) Gerald Hudson Seton Hall 6'9 274 lbs. 20 years old 4) Wenli Ham China 7'0 229 lbs. 21 years old 5) Bobby Robinson LSU 6'9 260 lbs. 21 years old 6) Lewis Dixon Michigan State 6'9 212 lbs. 21 years old 7) Doug Walker Ball State 6'9 239 lbs. 21 years old 8) Mladen Olic Serbia 6'10 236 lbs. 19 years old 9) Stan Price Kansas 6'10 259 lbs. 20 years old 10) Juwan Hines Duke 6'10 245 lbs. 21 years oldCenter : Center The center position appears to be where it’s at this year as three of the top four players are playing the center position. Corey Hood out of Illinois had a spectacular year on the way to All American honors the title of the second best prospect available. The always interesting Glen Irving has continued to spark interest as he dominated the ACC. The defensive minded Terrapin Cecil Morrison also appears to be a lock and should be gone in the top five.
