XXT Probe Qualification: 

XXT Probe Qualification Calibrating a XXT Stylus System and adding new stylus

Define Reference Sphere Position: 

This is the first step in qualifying a stylus system Define Reference Sphere Position

Reference Sphere Position: 

Reference Sphere Position On the Resources Panel click on the Stylus System button Load MasterProbe The Probing system qualification window will open

The Create New Stylus System window appears on the screen. Enter the name for the new stylus system Enter the name of the stylus Test stylus D_0_0

Click Qualify Stylus The stylus will be calibrated in the Qualify Passive mode. This will gather the bend and tensor data by means of scanning the MasterBall When the calibration is done the red X will disappear. This shows that the stylus has been calibrated

Defining a new stylus system: 

Defining a new stylus system Before you can qualify a new stylus system, you must define the name of the stylus system and what styli this stylus system has. Click the Stylus system icon in the list of prerequisites. The Probing system qualification window will open.

In the Create new stylus window, enter the name and number to be used for referencing the stylus. With respect to the name, CALYPSO does not distinguish between uppercase and lowercase characters. The number must be unique within the stylus system. Therefore, you can only choose among the free stylus numbers or enter a higher number than the last one of the selection list. Click OK to continue

Click on the RC Button to define the orientation of the new stylus. This feature will allow you to orientate the stylus real time

Enter the desired angle. You can preview the rotation in the CAD Window area Click here to rotate to the desired angle

If you wish to add further styli, repeat these steps The new styli are now displayed in the Stylus name / no. list Click on Qualify Stylus Touch the top of the MasterBall to continue the calibration

Set Limit Values

You can either set limits globally (for all the stylus in this stylus system) or individually for each styli. Set the minimum and maximum range and click Active to activate your changes. You can also set the amount of time the stylus stays qualified by setting the amount of days or hours.

Stylus Data Management will allow you view all the current data about the available stylus systems. Double click on Geometry

Quality is where you are going to verify the accuracy of the qualification. Look at the sigma to determine if you need to requalify . Requalify this probe with a sigma of 0.002. This is value is too high Now click on Settings
