Indefinite words and their negatives : Indefinite words and their negatives Un, una, unos, unas = a an, some algo = something alguién = someone, somebody algún, alguno-s, alguna-s = some, any siempre = always también = also, too o … o = either … or nada = nothing Nadie = someone, somebody ningún, ninguno-a = some, any nunca, jamás = never tampoco = neither ni …ni = neither … nor How to write negative sentences : How to write negative sentences *Put the word “NO” in front of the verb with a subject (conjugated). Examples: Él es (he is) – él no es (he isn’t) Hay (there is/are) – No hay (there isn’t/aren’t) Yo tengo (I have) – Yo no tengo (I don’t have) Ellos van (they go) – Ellos no van (they don’t go) Nosotros leemos (we are reading) – Nosotros no leemos (we are not reading) Slide 6: To write sentences with indefinte expressions in the negative, put NO before the conjugated verb and the negative equivalent of the expression after the verb. Examples: 1. Juan siempre se baña a medianoche. Juan no se baña nunca a medianoche. Alguién está buscando a mis amigos. No está buscando nadie a mis amigos. 3.
