Premium member Presentation Transcript ELA II: Guidelines for Success: ELA II: Guidelines for SuccessBefore we get started today…: Before we get started today… Please put all back packs either on the floor, under the desk or in an empty chair. (Not on your lap or the desk please. We need space to work.) For today, and everyday after, you will need your binder, planner, writing utensils, paper and syllabus on your desk. Today we will be using notebook paper and something to write with so get them out please. Also, please remove everything else from your workspace. Please make sure you remember who your accountability partner is. They are your pair share partner.A few more procedures for us to practice… (I promise, these will make life more enjoyable for all of us in the long run…) : A few more procedures for us to practice… (I promise, these will make life more enjoyable for all of us in the long run…) Quick Write Boards: They are for “quick-writes,” please only write on them when instructed to do so. Please treat them with respect and keep their marker partner with them, otherwise they get sad. Also, they are not for drawing funny pictures or writing messages to your friends across the room. Pair Share: Please keep your “pair sharing” on topic and get quiet immediately when the teachers call for attention. Whole class share: Students will either be asked to volunteer to share/ speak to the whole class. In this case, please raise your hand and wait to be called on. If we are pulling popsicle sticks, please allow the student called enough time to listen, think and then respond. Please try not to yell out answers.Okay quick practice… : Okay quick practice… Pair share: with your partner quickly on what their favorite TV show is. You have about 1 minute. Quick write: Please write your partner’s favorite TV show on your dry erase board and hold it up. Keep the card your partner has given you and then… When I say go again , repeat the process with a new person. We will do this twice, then when I ask you to, please return to your assigned seats.Reflection/ Exit Ticket: Reflection/ Exit Ticket On the back of index card you’re holding, please write your name and the two “class rules” and ONE of the three “guidelines for success.” Hand it to Ms. Rolfe or Ms. Meiburg on the way out.
