Conclusions Sex between men is the main route of HIV transmission in the UK All indicators suggest that high risk sexual behaviour is increasing Prevalent diagnosed HIV infections in men who have sex with men are at an all time high Investigation of factors contributing to recent HIV infections will inform future health promotion for gay and bisexual men
