Slide 2:

A northbound train leaves the south side of Dallas at 7:40 a.m. on a Tuesday. Headed Downtown, it carries commuters on their way to work during morning rush hour. A southbound train leaves the north side of Dallas at 7: 40 a.m. on the same day. Headed Downtown, it carries commuters on their way to work during morning rush hour.

Several interesting aspects became apparent when comparing photos from the trains. Southbound travelers seem more interested in their newspapers and mobile phones. Could this be a sign of increased affluence? The northbound train appears to be not as crowded as the southbound train. Why not? The southbound train empties almost as soon as it reaches downtown. Does no one travel south at the start of the work day? Valid observations all. Now take a another look.
