In my own words…..: 

In my own words….. Of course what first drew me to Anth on Idol was his singing, I was overwhelmed at how he affected me from the very first moment I heard his sublime voice, but as time went on and I followed his journey, it was his personality that appealed to me the most. Watching how his brown eyes widened and sparkled when the crowd cheered for him, his undeniable diplomacy when grilled by the judges and his sense of fun and freedom when filmed behind the scenes filled my heart with pride and joy. His innocence that shone through was only complimented by his obvious intelligence and focus. I loved to watch how his dream was unfolding right in front of his eyes…. and ours. Needless to say I was devastated at the result of Idol 2004. I didn’t take it well and often wondered why I seemed to be angrier and so much more bitter than Anth himself was. I couldn’t hide it, but the way he handled it truly amazed me. How could anyone be that perfect? After what he had been through, how could he just know the right things to say, the right way to act, when to smile, how to joke, when to laugh. Where did that natural maturity and clear discretion even come from at 21 years of age? Post Idol endeared me to him even more. If someone had have told me that during idol I simply would have answered “Not possible’ but seeing him finally able to express himself the way he wanted and be himself showed me exactly why I felt so much for this guy. He makes me laugh, he lights up the room with his smile and inspires me to head for my goals and do what I love. The person that is Anthony Callea, has not only changed my life, but the lives of so many. It is because of him that we , his fans are so committed and devoted. We are the ones lining up first and waiting for hours for a mere glimpse. We are the ones that believe he deserves to win all these competitions no matter what they are. We are so determined to give him what he wants because we love him for who he is and for who he shows himself to be. It is him we are proud of, that we are touched by and aspire to be like. It is him, who we love to watch, listen to and hear about. Has he ever disappointed? I think not. Has he ever let us down? I think not. Always gracious, charming and sweet. Ever the gentleman. amazed /anita_m On a personal note, I have had the opportunity to speak to Anth twice. Both occasions were during a signing, once during the Idol tour & once at Marconi, and each time although there was a large number of people and the time would have been extremely short, I felt Anthony had listened and responded to whatever I had said. It is almost like that focus he displayed so well during Idol, is brought into play to enable him to have that brief interlude with his fans. Apart from his fantastic voice, the endearing personality is the other aspect of why I am an Anthony Callea fan. Mim How long have you spent with Anthony? In one night it would've been a couple of hours in total. It was after the Australian Idol Concert here in Adelaide last year. I’ve met him a few times now, but they have all been quick and rushed meetings. How did he come across to you? At first he seemed a little snobby (haha) but after a while he was lovely. I think he just needs a little time to get to know the person. By the end of the night I felt like I had known him for years. What makes him so special do you think? His warm and friendly nature, oh and his amazing voice of course. :p What do you love about his personality? The fact that he is down too earth and also that he takes the time to acknowledge his fans. Is there anything you don’t like about his personality? To be honest, no. Does he make you laugh? If so, how? I think I make him laugh more than he makes me laugh. Lol In one word, how do you sum up his personality? Outgoing Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him? Photo’s and his autograph. Lol Seriously just the fact that he is just an ordinary person like me and you. Why do you think you can line up for hours for 5 seconds with him? Because I don’t have anything better to do with my time. Lol No, I think it’s because 5 seconds with Anth is better than no time at all. Voice and passion for singing 4. What do you love about his personality? Fun-loving, nice, intelligent, sensitive, emotional, intense, consistently nice and considerate 5. Is there anything you don’t like about his personality? Not in ten minutes, unless I can say he's too young or born thirty  years too late.  Bit too much into labels for labels sake for my personal liking 6. Does he make you laugh? If so, how?  He can laugh at himself.  Like when a radio DJ asked him if he could please trip over or something at the ARIAs.  The last part of this is not word for word but my version of it.  DJ: because after seeing you my girlfriend ignores me for about a week.  Can you be a little less perfect? Anthony: No, I don't think so.  It's hard work being me you know.  I don't wake up in the morning like this.  It takes hours.  DJ:  What about an Anthony Callea make-over for me? Anthony:  Yes maybe. How does his personality affect you? Makes me happy to see him, feel his sadness when he seems sad, gets me emotionally involved with his performances and his career.  I respect his dignity and class when he's faced with some unclassy people and situations.  9  Does it endear you more to him or is it the performance or voice that you love the most?  Once I'd heard that voice and seen his intensity nothing else would over-ride it.  But if he was horrible I probably wouldn't be as obsessive.  His personality and passion go hand in hand so he wouldn't perform the same I don't think.  10. Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him?  The feeling he was just a big kid and despite his tiredness was so hyped up and ready to talk to us.  Just a wish I was young and glamorous and not feeling embarrassingly old and untrendy.  Shallow me that night!  11. Do you think he is a good role model?  Yes excellent.  12.  Any other comments you wish to make~  That the big Eastern States' cities perspective is very different from WA's and even mine.  We just want to buy a ticket and see him perform and that's hard enough if not impossible.  Any idea of meeting him and getting to know him as a person etc is out of the question.

Audrey How long have you spent with Anthony? prolly a few minutes each time i see him. he's always so nice.. sometimes i just expect him to stand there looking hot while everyone just stares or asks for his autograph or just take endless amounts of pics while he poses... but its sooo not like that.. What do you love about his personality? he's got a gazillion different personalities... he's polite.. flirty... smart and intuitive towards his fans, perfectionist, lazy and alert at the same time... i can tell that he's more than what he portrays himself to be... and he's smart about how he "markets" himself through the media. he's in the same industry that i want to be a part of in a few years time... im gettin there! and its just funny how people on acof have mentioned that he wouldve prolly been a photographer... and how he paints sometimes... and that he's done a massage course... all the things that are similar in fields of the same industry. Does he make you laugh? If so, how? lol he does! sometimes i just see him doing funny things.. like in his interview on the dvd i just laughed at how he used his hands for emphasis all the time.. how he always looks like he's really interested in what the interviewers have to say and just engaging the audience.. he knows how to woo his audience. it makes me laugh with him how everyone thinks he's the "italian stallion of the 21st century" and how he can laugh at himself about things the media put up against him like his height and so forth. i love how he can act so mature and then all childish at the same time.. like when he gets pressies.. Audrey (continued…) How does his personality affect you? well it makes me like him even more so... the more i find out about him, the more things we have in common... i'm even starting to buy similar clothes.. all cas and the shoulder bags... i mean our last photo together (with bev) had us both in sunnies, casual tops and jeans with thongs! and you know how u hear of old couples looking more and more similar as they're together.. (not that im going out with him... yet.. heh heh) Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him? vina's paper cup anthony gave her..? lmao. its funny how easy it is to talk to him.. im usually not confidant .. or really in general talk to seriously good looking people.. so when i started talking to anthony it just made me realise he's just like me. he makes u feel at ease with him.. there's no pretences.. maybe at first sight he'll be slightly shaded.. slightly mysterious.. then again, what person tells u their whole life story then the next time u see them, they're interesting to talk to? not many... you can tell he's a ladies man.. perhaps he's like this because he grew up looking ordinary.. he only had his personality to charm others, then had his hormones that made him a seriously good looking man.? which is why he's not a shallow so and so like so many "hot" guys who think they're all that. lol. who knows. or maybe he was just brought up awesomely by awesome parents. What do you love about going to Anth appearances? i suppose the excitement of seeing everyone else all hyped up and crazy.. especially when u hang out with people like vina and bev... it makes anyone go happily insane. lol. and seeing anthony... i dont know.. he makes u feel as if ure one of his friends cheering him on to live his dream... just imagine one of your friends becoming an overnight sensation.. that's the feeling.. you get to help them live their dream. Why do you think you can line up for hours for 5 seconds with him? there are people who have awesome auras.. they fill the room up with a heavenly glow that makes everyone happier and lively. that's what anthony does. and its one of the best feelings..

DaNN-i How does Anth come across to you? very first time i met anthony, was waringah mall 2004 for an idol instore -- he remembered my username from the official forums and asked about this "inside joke" ... we laughed and laughed for atleast 10mins ... he came across as extremly down to earth very easy to talk to and at ease at talking to me (a complete stranger) ... even when the security guards said "move on" anthony was like UMM NO ... so i would say for me from the get go anthony has been pleasant and charming even to this day, to me he is lovely ... although i have seen him brush off some people ... What makes him so special do you think? special as a person? because he is down to earth and very easy going special as an artist? do i need to go there? hehe What do you love about his personality? to me he seems like a - go with the flow - type of guy ... nothing gets to him easily, so id say that .... his kind and gentle nature is also a bonus!! and the fact that he can laugh at himself is good hehe Does he make you laugh? If so, how? laugh ? HAHA all the time ... little jokes he continually says to me in sydney ... even with some of the other "sydney" fans who go everywhere, theres a little in joke, and its cute that he remembers and says it all the time even if its not directly to me ... the fact that he can laugh and joke around with fans and himself and the band and wendy is good... makes you laugh just watching him last sunrise appearance, he was eating fresh fruit ... acting like a clown while eating, it was just funny - silly funny, but still he made you laugh at 7am In one word, how do you sum up his personality? from what ive seen .... *thinks* .... honest How does his personality affect you? not too sure what you mean exactly ... but i guess its nice to be around him, not bc he is "AC" but because he gives out a nice family/friendly/warm vibe when he speaks to you individually Does it endear you more to him or is it the performance or voice that you love the most? nope, right now AC as a person is what i love more then AC as an artist, a year ago it was the other way around Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him? ofcourse but it wouldnt be special if i told you all my secrets!! hhaha ... but when i gave him a present back in october 2005, and then he wore it twice on tv and then reminded me of him wearing it (slapped my hand bc i hadnt noticed it at 1 appearance lol) and thanked me for it 3 weeks later it was nice to know he appreciated it and special to know that he wore it Do you think he is a good role model? he is not a role model to me ... but i can see how he is to younger fans ... he does everything thats right in his heart, follows his dreams and he is living them each and everyday ... to me thats how i can see he is a role model to younger fans. A True Friend (continued……) What do you love about his personality? The fact that he is so easy going, genuine, funny and humble. That evening at the bar, if someone had walked into the room that didn't know who Anthony was, then you wouldn't have been able to pick out the celebrity. I'm not saying that in a negative way, but in a positive way because that shows just how down to earth Anthony really is. Does he make you laugh? If so, how? Some of the things that Anthony comes out with or does is really cute and definitely makes you laugh. For example at the Foxtel Birthday Bash he tripped over the speakers and he said something along the lines like, oh I'm always tripping over something, I did it on my DVD as well, Marching around on stage at the Carols rehearsal, placing the undies that people throw at him on his guitarist's head etc..... Even his laugh makes you laugh as well, so cute hehe In one word, how do you sum up his personality? Amazing How does his personality affect you? It makes you more relaxed around him and not so nervous to talk to him or approach him etc..... Does it endear you more to him or is it the performance or voice that you love the most? I think it's everything about Anthony that makes him so endearing. Its his voice, his personality & his performances combined. Was there anything special you take away from your meetings with him? The whole experience was special. To have the opportunity to sit there, have a chat, a drink & a laugh with someone who you admire and respect, is a moment that I will always cherish. Even having the opportunity to talk to him at in stores, even if they are for a couple of seconds are all special and memorabile in their own ways. What do you love about going to Anth appearances? The excitement of meeting him, listening to him perform live, what he is going to say, do etc....and the chance to meet him and talk to him even if its just for 5 secs, its still very special and memorable. Even just catching up with other Anthony fans and forum members and sharing in their stories and excitement is also special. .Do you think he is a good role model? Definitely. I think Anthony is someone that you can learn a lot from. Like the way to portray yourself in public and if you love something and work hard at it, then eventually you will get there and that you can live out your dreams. If you fail at it the first time, then keep at it, eventually, you'll get there. Alternatively, Anthony inspired my six year old son to do singing and piano lessons. Something which he absolutely loves and which he is doing really well at. It was only after watching Anthony on Idol etc.. did he come up to us and ask if we can take him to singing and piano lessons and he is loving it.

alijoy to me Anth's personality? You could do a year's research on that topic alone!! Skimming through all my articles about Anthony, I found a lovely one in the - shock and unbelievable amazement - Herald Sun!! I had forgotten that Anthony used to run 8km every day prior to all the Idol hype. That proves that he's not just a "pretty face" but that he likes to keep fit and focused. No wonder he had so much physical stamina during 2005. I'll have to send you a copy of the article as it's a scanned one. Anthony has pure class and always exhibits the highest level of diplomacy, and this article was the first of many to prove just that.

Bev Bohn How long have you spent with Anthony? Not long enough    I have only had the privilege of seeing Anth 3 times in person. The first time was at his instore appearance at Castle Towers last year. The second time was at the Australian Idol Grand Final where I had tickets for the Outdoor party. The third time was at the Opera House on NYE. How did he come across to you? Anth came across as a very genuine sincere guy who is really down to earth with great values. What makes him so special do you think? There is so much that makes Anth special other than his voice, his sincerity, personality, never die attitude, values obviously instilled by his family. What do you love about his personality? Anth seems so approachable and easy going I don’t thing you could ever feel uncomfortable talking to him. Very friendly person. Fame does not seem to have changed him negatively. Is there anything you don't like about his personality? No not that I can think of. Does he make you laugh? If so, how? I love the way in which he is so open, some of his antics are so cute like turning around to see where Wendy is and then sneaking away to see us. His giggle makes me laugh it’s so cute.

Can’t just sum up in one word, a few words spring to mind; a couple include: easygoing, fun loving, lovable How does his personality affect you? It makes me happy that stardom doesn’t change everyone and he is really get to his fans which is really sweet. Does it endear you more to him or is it the performance or voice that you love the most? I would have to say it’s the whole package. He has wonderful talent which is what originally drew me to him, but seeing how he approaches life and everything is really inspiring. Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him? As I said before just how great he is with the fans, he really takes time out to show his appreciation for everyone’s support. What do you love about going to Anth appearances? Everything, the atmosphere seeing how Anth has developed over the year. Why do you think you can line up for hours for 5 seconds with him? I really don’t know why he just seems to have the ability to draw people to him. I have never before waited to see any other performers. Do you think he is a good role model? I think Anth is a wonderful role model. He has a never give up attitude and values which are commendable. If only all artists could be the same. Any other comments you wish to make~ Anth has demonstrated that he has a strong willpower by using constructive criticism and even negativity to come back even stronger and prove all the doubters wrong. Harvs182000 The first time I met Anthony I was taken by the warmth of his character and personality. The attention that he gave to each of his fans showed what a genuine and caring person he is. He is charismatic and has the personality that draws you in and makes you hold on to every word that he says and every move that he makes. Anth, I also think is shy and that at times can be mistaken for aloofness. He is also very focussed and knows what he wants and will do what he can to succeed in whatever he sets out to achieve. He is also appreciative of his fans and has shown this on many occasions. Anth also likes to have a good time and a laugh. I think he can be very quick witted and knows the right things to say.

Canballball How long have you spent with Anthony? I realize Anth when he sang The Reason; the first impression was….. His hair looks bad! Hahahahahaa! I remember I started to be his fan when he sang Car Wash, he was so cute! The first time I met him with 31st March 05 at highpoint album instore. And now, I think I have met him about 12 times…. I m not sure….lol How did he come across to you? He came across as a friendly and open person, he was very kind and sweet to talk to me or ask me how I was... He always makes me feel comfortable to talk; he knows I can’t explain the words in good English. He is a very funny, nice and friendly guy! What makes him so special do you think? His voice is amazing, there's only one like it in the world. But it's so much more than that... Anth as a person, with his character and his heart makes him even more one of a kind! I am very lucky that to be recognized by him when I met him the 2nd time at Chaddy instore. After then he remembers my name. I am really appreciating it! On forum, I was the only one that gets his personal reply in my topic about the scarf I gave him. I feel so special and am loved! Lmao. At PerSempre instore, he took the chocolate bar and put it on the stage, it made my day, lol! He also took my camera and took a pic of himself! In addition, Santina Callea actually did tell me that Anth has mentioned my name at home a few times! Lmao, she told me after the Palais concert. I‘ve only met Anth 3 times before that. What do you love about his personality? It maybe the fact that he is so kind and loving, he never forgets to be humble and he always never takes the people who support him for granted... always reminding them how thankful he is for their support... He is trying to remember as much as he can about his fans, he is a very clever and smart boy. Just like how he remembers me and is so nice to me and talks to me every single time… He is such a care-giver! I’ve met him in person many times, not only at instores for few seconds’ conversation. I can say what you have seen him on TV, that’s him in real life! He doesn’t pretend much from any interviews with media; he ONLY pretends he is not tired when he is tired! Lmao Is there anything you don’t like about his personality? Hmm……. this is a tough one…. well, okay, let's be honest here... Anth isn't perfect... it's really hard to think of a fault in his character, but he is human, and I’m sure just like everyone else, has his imperfections. Does he make you laugh? If so, how? OF COURSE! haha... he has the most adorable mannerisms in the way he walks or the way he talks!! Lmao, sooooo many examples……ummm…. The first time I laughed at him was on inside idol, he cried when Angie have to leave them. I know it was a sad moment, but Anth’s reaction was very cute and funny! He was like a little boy, his reaction is so natural and with his warm heart. The last two weeks on idol (final 2), I found this caps from the video! Lmao, he was playing a spider!! He was going to scare Casey! Haha! So naughty!!!

Canballball [continued….] If talking about when I see him in real life…. There have heaps of moments made me laugh!! At ANZ family day, just before he sang the last song, he looked at me and Natski and said with very deep voice, “are u ready?” lmao! I just laughed and forgot I need to take pics! Lmao I met him outside the backstage of Gigi concert in Melb; I was the only fan there. So I got about 20-30 mins to talk with him during his breaktime. When he asked me to come closer to him, he suddenly said it out loudly…OH! You are shorter than me! I didn’t laugh at that time, but actually I found this funny! Lmao At idol grand final, I wasn’t there but Vina said ‘Candy said hi’ to Anth; and Anth said it in funny voice, ’Oh! I love Candy!’ lmao! I heard from Vina, is this count? Haha Carols rehearsal!!! It was the most hilarious Anth I have ever seen!!!! Haha, he was really in happy mood after coming back from overseas! Haha, he was marching like a toy soldier!!!!!!! In one word, how do you sum up his personality? Considerate How does his personality affect you? umm.. Looking at how Anth showers so much love back to the people who support him, i also learn not to take the people who love me for granted... i.e. family and my friends. That he inspires me to become a better person and respect others, just like how he's so considerate to everyone. Does it endear you more to him or is it the performance or voice that you love the most? It is definitely his personality that first drew me to him, although of course, I equally love his perfect performances and his one-in-a-million voice. Was there anything special you take away from your meeting(s) with him? As I said very lucky that he does really remember me; I feel ‘closer’ with him. I don’t really treat him as a Super Star; he is still like a normal person but with a special talent in my eyes. I learnt how to respect to him since I have met him so many times. I actually know more than that, but I think the info of him is not that big now. The most meaningful thing I got from him is his special kindness and gentleness!!!!!!!!!!!! The pics I have with him for sure are my greatest memories! Heehee…. And my 21st bday kiss! Lmao, and the messages that he wrote for me! He wrote “I prefer Candy over Chocolate” ! I only asked him to write something about chocolate! Lmao, which I didn’t expect… I and Laura couldn’t stop laughing!!!!! Lmao! When me and Laura shouted out “WOOOOOHHOOOOO” and keep laughing; Anth pretended us and said “WOHOHO~” lmao!!! So funny!!!!

Canballball [continued…] What do you love about going to Anth appearances? I am his fan, of course I need to show him my support as much as I can! Haha, and after Chaddy instore, I know more people from acof. I really love to go to meet them when I go to see Anth! And I always have lots of fun when we are seeing Anth on stage! Haha, and for me, I really love to take heaps of pics of Anth every appearance!! Until now, I have already taken over 2000 pics of Anth! Lmao Why do you think you can line up for hours for 5 seconds with him? Its worth! Since Chaddy instore, I got the front row to see Anth’s performances on stage every time!!! I can take good pics in the front row! And I can see him closely; he can see me in the front row too! Lmao. For lining up hours…. I lined up for 14 hours for Carols last year…. It’s really crazy and I got to sit on the grass area only…. But I still think its worth it, lol! I used to go to the instore at 6:00am and wait until 1:00pm; it’s just few hours. Myer instore, from 8:30am to 5:30pm. I don’t feel its boring when I m waiting in the line. I also don’t like that 5 seconds meeting him at signing table…grrrr… why….. I don’t know exactly what I m thinking… I just think I can try my very best to show him my support!!! Do you think he is a good role model? Yes! definitely, he has all the characteristics of being humble, considerate, down-to-earth... he doesn't let the fame get to his pride, and always remembers where his success comes from: the people who love and support him, family friends and fans... he uses his idol status also for good... for example charity work, for the Mirabel foundation remember, to help people and kids that are less fortunate... simple things like making them smile... and making their day. Btw, I love kids very much too, heehee.

Sum up All those words and many more sum up what Anthony Callea means to so many of us. I am sure with time, as he grows, his fan base will too. I can’t help but think that we are the lucky ones, we believed in him first, we saw what the others are yet to see….and we found him when he was just starting out. Once he takes the world by storm, we will watch and encourage and support. Not only because we believe in his raw talent, but because we believe in him…as a person, as a personality.
