ScanMeg BBS+ & ULTRA S:

ScanMeg BBS+ & ULTRA S Click here for introductions Announcing the new ULTRA S Single-point Laser Scanner In addition to the models BBS+4” and 48” field of view, the ULTRA S has been introduced. Waterproof NEMA enclosure Based on the popular Baby S laser series New universal brackets for end or side mounting Stainless steel screws Industrial sealed connector Analog 4-20 mA, serial and PnP output Click here for introductions

BBS+:

BBS+ With over 600 Baby S Type Laser Scanners in operation the new BBS+ with its waterproof enclosure will extend its usefulness into areas previously too severe. Current uses include: Cant height detection in front of horizontal bands, vertical gangs and resaws Veneer thickness measurement in front of composer lines Measurement of defect on stickers feeding automatic stick placers Quality Control installations in differential mode for thickness measurements Sorter control for thickness and nominal widths Fence checker for board bounce-back at trimmers Monitoring cant widths after canters or bandsaws Activation of kickers for lumber sweeps – non contact Multiple units used as a low-cost edger optimizer PNP output for impossible to locate photocell positions Manufacturing parts location

BBS+ In Differential Mode:

BBS+ In Differential Mode Differential mode for Quality Control Use BBS+48” at sawmill sorter and BBS+4” in planermill applications Outputs thickness directly in inches in 4-20 mA or serial Differential communication modules for single or multiple scanners in daisy chain (eg. Transverse scanning applications) Click here for comments

Differential Communications Module (3 analog outputs 4-20mA, 2 PNP contacts, RS-485 serial communication, 2 plug-in BabyS or BBS+):

Differential Communications Module (3 analog outputs 4-20mA, 2 PNP contacts, RS-485 serial communication, 2 plug-in BabyS or BBS+) BBS+ #1 BBS+ #2 Connection to next module (daisy chain) Push button to sequence through data: Scanned value from BBS+ #1 (inches) Scanned value from BBS+ #2 (inches) Differential output (thickness, inches) Module parameters Module output median adjustment LED: green = BBS+48” yellow = BBS+4” (automatic indicator when installed) Dipswitches for: Baud rate Median adjustment Data output connection to PLC or PC Display indicator status Display data for BBS+ #1, #2 differential value or module parameters Connection from previous module (daisy chain) Push button for local differential calibration Dipswitches for: Module I.D. Termination (last module)

Veneer Application:

Veneer Application Monitor veneer thickness across veneer or composed panels. DIFF Module provides thickness in inches or mm – all calculations done in on-board CPU, not in PLC or PC Daisy-chain modules together 0.001 – 0.005” precision Co-ordinates with TVeneer defect scanner for composing lines Click here for comments

Board Length Application:

Board Length Application For stud length measurement place BBS48” at each end Provides accurate length measurement through Differential module For longer boards the Type SE has a range of 4” – 14’4”
