Holodomor: 

Holodomor Holodomor, the Ukrainian famine (1932-1933 ) The loss of lives was in the range of 10 million. Ukrainian Genocide? (81% of the victims –ethnic Ukrainians.)

World War -II: 

World War -II Ukrainian nationalists fought both Nazi and Soviet The Germans were received as liberators ( Western Ukraine)

Culture Shock: 

Culture Shock The anxiety produced when a person moves to a new environment (lack of direction, what to do and how to do, what is appropriate or inappropriate.)

Symptoms: 

Symptoms Sadness, loneliness. Desire to sleep too much or too little. Depression, feeling powerless. Anger, unwillingness to interact with others. Idealizing the old culture.

Stages of Culture Shock Honeymoon stage( everything is new and exciting) Transition( crisis in daily life, impatience, anger, sadness, and feeling incompetence) During the transition, there can be strong feelings of dissatisfaction.
