Field Sources: Getting YOU Involved Field research is a type of primary research. In field research, you are conducting first-hand research. Examples include:
Observe a meeting or event
Visit a museum or other important location
Conduct an interview
Conduct a survey
Note: Often, you can find a field research source: an interview, a survey, a case study. These should be a last resort and are not as effective as your own involvement.

Schedule an appointment early
Keep it to no longer than 30 minutes and/or no more than 10 questions
List your questions in order of importance in case you run out of time
Ask open-ended (not yes-no) questions
If possible, record (with permission)

Review notes ASAP after the interview so you don’t forget anything
