Examples of artistic, field, and primary sources :

Field Sources: Getting YOU Involved :

Field Sources: Getting YOU Involved Field research is a type of primary research. In field research, you are conducting first-hand research. Examples include: Observe a meeting or event Visit a museum or other important location Conduct an interview Conduct a survey Note: Often, you can find a field research source: an interview, a survey, a case study. These should be a last resort and are not as effective as your own involvement.

Tips for Successful Interviews :

Tips for Successful Interviews Note: these tips complement those in your textbook Schedule an appointment early Keep it to no longer than 30 minutes and/or no more than 10 questions List your questions in order of importance in case you run out of time Ask open-ended (not yes-no) questions If possible, record (with permission) Confirm quotes and/or important information such as statistics Review notes ASAP after the interview so you don’t forget anything

Tips for Successful Questionnaires :

Tips for Successful Questionnaires When to use a survey/questionnaire instead of an interview: When you need numerical support such as percentages and statistics. When you don’t necessarily need the comments of an expert. When you need a variety of opinions or you want public opinion. Keep a survey brief Title survey so you have a way to refer to it and cite it Type your own or use a service like surveymonkey.com Citation: if format is not in your handbook Last name (yours), First name. “Title of Questionnaire or Survey.” Survey. City survey took place: Location where survey was conducted, year.
