PowerPoint Presentation:

Did you know that on any given night, approximately 750,000 men, women, and children are homeless in the US?

PowerPoint Presentation:

Homelessness refers to the status of people who are either sheltered homeless — using emergency or transitional housing — or unsheltered homeless — living on the streets or in parks , abandoned buildings , cars , subway tunnels or other places not meant for human habitation. What is Homelessness?

So, Why Should You Care??:

So, Why Should You Care?? 56% of homeless are living in shelters and transitional housing, while 44% are unsheltered. 98,452 families are struggling with homelessness. Over the course of a year, between 2.5 and 3.5 million people will live either on the streets or in an emergency shelter . There are approximately 150,000 to 200,000 chronically homeless individuals nationwide.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Every year, 600,000 families with 1.35 million children experience homelessness in the United States, making up about 50 percent of the homeless population over the course of the year . 43 percent of children living with homeless parents are under the age of 6 . Half of all homeless children attended three different schools in one year, and three-quarters of homeless children perform below grade level in reading. And What About the Children?

PowerPoint Presentation:

Researchers estimate that about 5 to 7.7 percent of youth experience homelessness each year . Within 2-4 years of exiting foster care, 25 percent of foster children experience homelessness.

PowerPoint Presentation:

It is estimated that between 23 and 40 percent of homeless adults are veterans. More than half (56) percent have completed high school or a GED program. But Do They Deserve to Be Homeless? No… No One Deserves to be Homeless!
