Blended family
Single-parent family
Extended family

Physical needs – Families provide the basic needs for survival: food, clothing, and shelter.
Mental needs – Families teach children everyday tasks, from tying shoes to speaking languages.
Emotional needs – Families provide a base of emotional security so that each member can feel accepted, supported, and loved.
Social needs – Families teach the skills their members need to get along with others and be productive members of the community.

Look for clubs or activities that interest you.
Keep a positive attitude and try help other family members adjust.

Avoid blaming or criticizing the adult who is faced with finding a new job or managing a budget with less income.

Although you may be having a difficult time understanding what is going on, show your parents that you care for them by talking to them.
