Powerpoint Templates Internet of Things (IoT) by Mohammad Saeed Zare for academic class presentation Dr. Azadeh Asgari

What is IoT?:

What is IoT? The  Internet of things   refers to uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure.

A Thing in IoT can be::

A Thing in IoT can be: A person A farm animal An automobile And …

History:

History A Coke machine at Carnegie Melon University in the early 1980s. Small RFID chip, here compared to a grain of rice Radio-frequency identification (RFID)

RFID and Sensor Networks :

RFID and Sensor Networks An RFID tag looks like a postage stamp-sized that can be embedded in an object so that it can be tracked . Sensor networks are deployed to monitor aspects of the physical world.

RFID, Sensor Networks & IoT:

History:

History Kevin Ashton proposed the term Internet of things in 1999,though people have discussed the concept since at least 1991. The concept of the Internet of things first became popular through the Auto-ID Center at MIT and related market analysis publications. According to Gartner, there will be nearly 26 billion devices on the Internet of Things by 2020.

Unique addressability of things :

Unique addressability of things According to Steve Leibson, who identifies himself as “occasional docent at the Computer History Museum,” the address space expansion means that we could “assign an IPV6 address to every atom on the surface of the earth.

Applications :

Applications Fields of applications include: waste management, urban planning, environmental sensing, social interaction gadgets, sustainable urban environment, continuous care, emergency response, intelligent shopping, smart product management, smart meters, home automation and smart events.

Applications:

Applications The Internet of things has the potential to change the world, just as the Internet did.

Applications:

Applications Connect with things

Applications:

Applications Monitor and control things via internet and mobile applications

Applications:

Applications Real Search for things

Criticism & Controversies :

Criticism & Controversies Security is the most important problem. The ability of IoT easily track an object, and hence the person who uses it, can be an invasion of privacy.

Questions:

Questions What are advantages and disadvantages of using IoT? Which is more than another? According to security problems, will you use IoT services? In your opinion, can technology solve security problems? What is the effect of IoT on social interaction of people?
