Student Information Management System : 

Student Information Management System Take attendance and input grades Enter grades and access student information from home Administrators can run various reports about students and teachers Administrators can track student discipline Manage students’ schedules

Issues : 

Issues Lack of report options for teachers Issues with grades properly posting when input from home Frequent saving errors when inputting grades and conduct Codes for absent and incomplete in a different color

Course Management System : 

Course Management System Put classroom activities and resources up for students Collaborative work space for students Teacher led chat rooms Students can submit assignments online Parents can create an account and view the classroom Open source Similar to social networks which cuts down on the student learning curve

Stumbling Blocks : 

Stumbling Blocks Parents can’t view their student’s work Teacher’s unfamiliarity with using the software Inputting formal lesson plans takes a long time Inappropriate use of messaging by students

Curriculum Management System : 

Curriculum Management System Input lesson plans Outline TEKS for each lesson plan Include documents and other resources for each lesson as an attachment Share lessons and resources across campuses Submit help cases for technology issues Can transfer lessons from year to year

Rough Spots : 

Rough Spots Teacher adjustment to putting lessons online Submitting cases for technology repairs or assistance through EduPhoria

Internet Filtering System : 

Internet Filtering System Different filter levels for teachers and students Broad categories and key words to classify which sites to block

Areas of Concern : 

Areas of Concern Too restrictive Approved sites are randomly blocked

One-to-One Computing : 

One-to-One Computing To be implemented in the 2010-2011 school year Each teacher and student on every middle school campus will be issued a laptop

Staff Concerns : 

Staff Concerns Lack of bandwidth Out-of-date wiring Lack of electric outlets for charging laptops Lack of teacher training Lack of preparation time
