Premises Registration: 

Premises Registration Became compliant on January 18, 2005 Voluntary but exploring legislation to make it mandatory Register Web Phone Mail/fax form Will start actively advertising in October

Premises Registration: 

Premises Registration Over 2,600 registered California 1,500 Oregon 1,100 Exemptions Over 200 8-10% Higher for beef operations Conversion of of existing premises Have not moved END (87,000) to state system Validation of existing dairies (60 %)

CA Premises Registered via CPRS: 

CA Premises Registered via CPRS N= 1,500

Why Exceptions?: 

Physical address is submitted No address has ever been issued to premises * latitude and longitude are needed to obtain premises number Brand new address Verification is needed through different services including county assessors office Wrong address is submitted Number, Street name, City, Zip P.O. Box is provided Does not have a physical address Submitter does not know physical address and uses P.O. box Started using Data Management Center From a few minutes to several days to issue number Why Exceptions?

Premises Identification - Issues: 

Premises Identification - Issues Complex to register certain premises 'Sheep continued to graze in old grain fields, fallow land, and harvested melon fields in Fresno County.' *Recent NASS Livestock Report Data only flows one direction - from CPRS to National Repository Premises numbers being issued via EMRS (FAD’s emergencies) Public land conversion? Systems don’t collect same information as CPRS
