What is plagiarism? : 

What is plagiarism? A specific form of cheating where you present someone else’s words or work as if it is your own. That is, when you use words from elsewhere, and don’t credit the author.

It is plagiarism even if… : 

It is plagiarism even if… You change some words or summarise material without citing the source. You cut and paste the text from the Internet without citing the source. You do it accidentally. You copy the work of other students.

What can I do? Good practice! : 

What can I do? Good practice! Record details of every source you look at for assignments. Cite things correctly in assignments. Include a full bibliography. Use the resources that are available to help you.

2. Cite things correctly Why? So that readers can: See the breadth of your research. Check the evidence on which your argument is based. Use the references for further reading. And so that lecturers can see what you looked at, see if there are any gaps in your knowledge they need to correct, or if you used a source that is misleading or problematic.
