Work Experience : 

Work Experience 1989-1996: Various retail and administrative jobs, including: cashier, bank teller, special needs assistant, pharmacy assistant & administrative assistant at the University of Victoria SUB. 1996-1997: ESL instructor in Chichibu, Japan, teaching for children and adults with a focus on business English at Canon, Nikon and Chichibu Onoda, a cement company. 1997-2001: Worked for various environmental non-profits (ENGOs), including: Friends of Cortes Island Society, Reach for Unbleached! Foundation, the Watershed Sentinel Magazine & the BC Environmental Network.

Travel: Europe: 

Travel: Europe 1989, 1992, 1998, 2001: Backpacking in Europe. Highlights included climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, exploring the Greek Islands & picking grapes on Cyprus. Boat ride in Southwestern Crete, Greece

Travel: Japan: 

Travel: Japan 1996-1997: Lived and traveled widely in Japan. Highlights included climbing Mt. Fuji & visiting the temples of Kyoto. Kamakura, Japan

Travel: Southwestern US: 

Travel: Southwestern US 1999: Hiking & camping in Utah, New Mexico & Arizona. Highlights included hiking to Druid Arch in Canyonlands, Utah. Arches, Utah

Travel: Eastern US: 

Travel: Eastern US 2000: Traveled through Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts & New York. Highlights included seeing Shakespeare on Boston Common & a Tom Stoppard play on Broadway. Times Square, NY

Things that make me happy . . .: 

Things that make me happy . . . Reading Travel Hiking Yoga Swimming in the ocean Spending time with my partner, Doug And last, but not least . . . Fine wine & good company!
