SCHEDULE

interpretation :

interpretation Most of the employees were availing the welfare facility and were satisfied with the routine welfare facility & on an average time taken for the approval was 1 to 2 week. As far as the special welfare facility is concerned the employees were found satisfied with it but time taken for approval was 2 to 3 week in most of these facilities as the study shows. Most the employees were satisfied with the welfare facilities conducted by the hotel. Most of the employees were satisfied with the medical committee. But when it comes to the allowances specially the EDUCATIONAL & HRA , had mixed response from the employees.

Slide 38:

Responses about the Recreational facilities also had the mixed views. Most of the employees were considering the welfare facilities as the motivational factor. One interesting phenomenon this study generates that they were feeling the importance of the unions.

Slide 39:

As the schedule based on needs and concerns model shows that the majority employees were considering increase in wages as a most important variable (53 %) and the responses were moving in between neutral to very important on likert scale. 41% & 32 % of the employee deemed the pension and retirement plans as important and very important factor respectively. 34 % employees were on the neutral side when it comes to the working conditions. Employee paid uniform and laundering was rated in the mid range of not important and least important variable of need and concern model as 39% & 36% shows. When it comes to personal sick leave for family matters had a mixed response as the percentage shows.

Slide 40:

38%of the employees rated job time management as the least important factor and 25 % were on the neutral side and 18% considered as important. Health benefits as a variable was rated in between least important to important by the majority of employees as the percentage of responses shows. Qualifying time for health benefits had mixed response.

suggestions :

suggestions Hotel was taking 1 to 2 week in providing the routine welfare facilities but the special welfare facilities were time consuming and were bound with the lengthy procedure hence management should make it smoother in sanctioning these facilities. Recreation facilities were confined to the entertainment in the form of the TV & MUSIC , management should also consider some other type of recreational facilities like periodic games or sports for eliminating the mental fatigue and quiz show may also be held so as to develop belongingness with them. Hotel should provide the facility of co-operative stores or tie up with shops for providing the products at cheap prices.

Conclusion :

Conclusion As the study of the need and concern model and its further analysis indicate the concern which was dominating in all the needs was the increase in wages so the management should think to increase the wages prior to the increase in inflation. All the employees are satisfied with the welfare activities given by the hotel.

limitations :

limitations The study was basically the employee oriented and no due consideration was given to the management, means their perspective was never considered during the study.. The general questionnaire covered limited questions. The respondents were having the difficulty in understanding my research and its objective.
