Welcome to Ms. Harmon’s Classroom. I will be teaching Comprehensive Health, Physical Education, and 7 th & 8 th Grade Science. Our Class Motto: “Intelligence plus character, is the true goal of education.” We must all work together in order to accomplish goals in this classroom. Teacher + Students + Parents=SUCCESS!!The Importance of Procedures:: The Importance of Procedures: Procedures are the way an individual does things in order to complete a task. For example: In order to put a game system together, you must follow the steps given to you. To be successful in learning, you must follow directions and procedures!Entering the Classroom: Entering the Classroom Enter the classroom quietly & make sure you bring all required materials EVERYDAY! Sharpen pencils and place Homework in “Docking Station.” Go directly to your assigned seat. Immediately begin working on “Daily Bell Ringer Activity.” After tardy bell rings, each student should be in the classroom. NO EXCEPTIONS!During Instruction: During Instruction After the completion of your “Daily Bell Ringer Activity,” remain quiet at your assigned seat. No pencil sharpening, talking, or whispering. Your FULL attention is expected during instructional time! Ask permission to speak by raising your hand, and wait for me to acknowledge you. All questions or concerns must be related to the topic being discussed. NO EXCEPTIONS!During Classwork: During Classwork Carefully listen to directions given to you and make sure you understand them. Raise your hand and wait to be called upon if there is anything you do not understand. All talking should be limited to asking a classmate a question about your assignment only! Respect your fellow classmates and work quietly. Please use your time wisely. Do your very best on your assignments!If The Teacher Raises Her Hand: If The Teacher Raises Her Hand ALL talking must cease & each student should wait on the teacher to give directions. I will be using a Flag Signal in my classroom: Flag Signals Include the following: Green —Everyone is following directions. Yellow —Warning, students need to stop talking & follow directions! NO TALKING! Red— Extra homework/assignment! NO EXCEPTIONS!Completion of Work: Completion of Work Check your work to make sure you did not make any mistakes. Turn all assignments in to their designated trays in the “Docking Station” Return to your seat and sit quietly. You may read a book, magazine, or complete an assignment for another class.Dismissal: Dismissal Five minutes before the end of class, students will clean up their work area, pack their belongings, and take all garbage to the trash can. Wait for Ms. Harmon to dismiss the class. The bell DOES NOT dismiss you! After you get permission to leave the class, make sure you push your chairs in and exit the classroom quietly. Thank you for your cooperation!Classroom Rules: Classroom Rules Arrive to class on time (You must be INSIDE the door when the tardy bell rings). Begin the Bell Ringer Activity immediately upon entering the classroom (Questions will be on the projector screen or board). Remain in your assigned seat unless you have permission to get up. Bring ALL required materials to class everyday (Includes: Pencils, pens, paper, notebook, textbook, and binder with all assigned materials). Follow school rules and expectations in the classroom. Begin immediately on your classwork and ask your classmates for any missed work after class.When You are Absent: When You are Absent Come directly to Ms. Harmon and provide me with an Excused Admission Slip upon entering the classroom. I will give you any missed work and it must be completed at home and returned to me the next day! If you missed a test, inform me and I will set up an arranged time for you to take a Make-up. You will not be able to make up ANY work if you have an UNEXCUSED absence.
