Diamonds Diamond is an exceptional, naturally-occurring stone, which consists of pure carbon. Diamond revitalize and convey energy, setting into movement the forces of growth and consistency.

Slide3:

Gemstones A Gemstone  is a piece of mineral crystal which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewellery  or other  adomments . Physical characteristics that make a colored stone valuable are color, clarity to a lesser extent

Slide4:

Durability When it comes to durability, diamond is the undisputable winner over most gemstones. Very few gems come even close to it in terms of hardness. Hardness:  The capacity of a gemstone to resist superficial scratches and scuffs. Stability:  The property of a gemstone to resist chemical or physical deterioration.

Slide5:

Colour It is clear that most gemstones are colored while most diamonds on the market are colorless or have a slight yellow tint. However, this is not what we are going to focus on here. A more important fact is that colored gemstones are often  heat treated . This type of treatment is used to enhance color; the result looks good and is usually permanent, but some gemstones may fade with time.

Slide6:

Value Diamonds  are created in distinct sizes, colors and shapes. Even though the main type of diamonds is known to be colorless, diamonds of different color have been found in other countries. A diamond becomes rare when a specific color or clarity of diamond is hard to find. The value of gemstones is assessed by the naked eye and specified according to the 4 C's; Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat. This system of characterizing diamonds is applied worldwide to all gemstones.

Slide7:

Price Carat, clarity, cut and color are the main characteristics of diamonds. The use of grading the diamonds this way creates internationally accepted values and makes worldwide trading possible. If the stone has an great color, a good cut or a high clarity, the price will rise accordingly. The carat weight is also very significant in calculating the final price .
