I think it focused on encouraging a positive self-image within women. However, the project was so disorganized that even I had trouble following what was going on. What part did I play? : What part did I play? I brought magazines to the table that our group had for Love Your Body Day. I also worked the table from 12:30-2pm. What did I like about the Project? : What did I like about the Project? I liked taking part within the project, buying the materials, and working the table. I like the feeling that I have helped the community of women at ETSU. What did I dislike about the Project? : What did I dislike about the Project? The project was completely disorganized until the last minute. Nobody had any idea what was going on. Nobody met with anyone else who was supposed to be working on the project. Nobody contacted one another with frequency. What didn’t work/what did? : What didn’t work/what did? We needed to keep in contact. Even now, I am unsure of certain details about the Activism Project. I liked it how some of the girls in the group came together within the last week in order to pull the project together. What would I do the same? What would I do differently? : What would I do the same? What would I do differently? I would probably have the same bake sale, but with a whole lot less food. I would keep in contact with the members of the group from the point when the project was assigned onward. I would physically meet with the group members during/before class. What have I learned? : What have I learned? I have learned that as someone who frequently assists in Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances events that I could have played a bigger role within trying to keep the group together. I have learned that contact with group members during an activism project is essential. Was the Project a Success? : Was the Project a Success? I would say no on this one. It was highly disorganized and nobody knew what was going on until the actual day of the event. Information was also miscommunicated/poorly worded between members through emails. All in all, the project would have worked out, had the group members kept in constant contact with one another. You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
