I will go over the skills and education required, and also types of athletes and how they achieved their goals and accomplishments.Mastery and skills: Mastery and skills In order to correctly hit the baseball, one must know how to swing correctly. You must have a nice and comfortable stance, with your feet being shoulder width apart. Be sure to keep your eyes on the ball and not move your head even as you swing to hit the ball, stay focused on the pitcher.Slide 5: You need to keep your knuckles lied up, to maintain a proper grip on the bat so that you do not injure and hurt your wrist. Timing has to be precise, if swinging too early or too late would cause you to miss the ball Shoulders must stay leveled throughout the swing Mastery and Skills (cont.)Slide 6: Square off the body as if you were getting ready to bat. Step in to your throw with the foot opposite your throwing hand. Use your whole body in the throw and keep your throwing elbow above the shoulder. Throw over the top to avoid injuries to the arm Mastery and Skills (cont.)Slide 7: A good defensive stance is one where the player's feet are slightly wider than their shoulders. The player should always take a step forward as the pitch is being delivered. As they step forward, they should bend at the waist and lower their glove toward the ground, palm open. Their balance should be on the balls of the feet, not the heels. Their weight should be evenly distributed, enabling them to go either left or right. Players should always expect that the ball will be hit to them. Mastery and Skills (cont.)Slide 8: No certain education after high school is required The only studying that professional baseball athletes need to do is study the game itself, and is a “thinking man’s game”. Baseball is considered by many the most difficult game. Education requiredSlide 9: You do not need to be the biggest or strongest or the fastest, although these traits would help, all you have to do is outsmart your opponent. You must be as mentally prepared as well as physically prepared. Baseball is a game of balance, staying balanced, and keeping your opponent off balance.
