PHYSICS SHOW : PHYSICS SHOW GETTING THE EGG SUCKED IN and OUT OF THE CONICAL FLASK MATERIALS NEEDED: extra-large peeled egg size Conical Flask Matches PHYSICS SHOW : PHYSICS SHOW WHAT TO DO: Put the hard boiled peeled egg on the mouth of the conical flask, observe. Now drop about three burning match sticks into the flask and put the egg on the mouth of the flask again, Observe. To get the egg out, tilt the conical flask up and strongly blow in. Remove your lips from the bottle and egg will just get out. PHYSICS SHOW : PHYSICS SHOW EXPLANATIONS: In getting the egg sucked in: The heated air in the flask expanded and rise up, pushed the egg to get its way out around the egg, as you saw some smoke coming out of the flask.( This hot air also had slightly greater pressure than the air outside the flask.) After cooling, the air contracted, now the air in the flask had slightly lower pressure than the air outside the flask. The air outside the bottle, literally pushed the egg in to the flask. In getting the egg sucked out: The air blown from the mouth through the tilted conical flask moved faster than the air already in the flask, and according to Bernoulli’s principle the relative air pressure was lower than the air pressure from the inside. Thus why the egg was sucked out. MATHEMATICS SHOW : MATHEMATICS SHOW DATA: Given three containers of unknown volumes but marked at their maximum capacity, where the biggest container is filled with Tea up to the mark. WHAT TO DO: Using only the given three containers divide the tea into two equal amounts. MATHEMATICS SHOW : MATHEMATICS SHOW TRICK: The volumes of container 1, container 2 and container 3 are 2 Liters, 1.25 Liters and 750 ml respectively. HINT: Initial Conditions: Container 1 of 2 Liters maximum capacity is the only filled container. then main target: To find 1 Liter in each of any selected two containers. MATHEMATICS SHOW : MATHEMATICS SHOW SOLUTION 1: Fill container 3 to the mark with tea from container 1, then pour all from container 3 into container 2(that is, leaving 1.25 Liters of Tea in container 1 pouring 750 ml of Tea into container 2, container 3 with 0 ml). Fill container 3 to the mark with tea from container 1, then fill up container 2 to the mark with Tea from Container 3.(Container 1 = 500 ml, Container 2 = 1.25 Liters, Container 3 = 250 ml) Pour all from container 2 into container 1, all from container 3 into container 2. (Container 1 = 1.75 Liters, Container 2 = 250 ml, container 3 = 0 ml) Repeat step 1 (Container 1 = 1 Liter, Container 2 = 1 Liter and container 3 = 0 ml) then mathematics mission complete. MATHEMATICS SHOW : MATHEMATICS SHOW SOLUTION 2: Instead of starting by pouring in container 3 pour in container 2, then follow the same logic. MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS INTRODUCED: Cyclic Numbers. Simple Arithmetic. CHEMISTRY SHOW : CHEMISTRY SHOW STARTING FIRE WITH A DROP OF WATER. Materials Required: Ammonium Nitrate, Lead Nitrate, Ammonium Chloride, Zinc Power and a Drop of Water. Slide 10: What to Do: Grind Ammonium Nitrate into fine powder, to increase the state of division. On a paper, Prepare a mixture of Ammonium Nitrate, Lead Nitrate and Ammonium Chloride. When the fun time has arrived (when audience are present) pour Zinc powder on the mixture and use the spatula to mix. Then add just a little drop of water and stand back. The spontaneous green combustion will occur. You do not have the permission to view this presentation. In order to view it, please contact the author of the presentation.
